I know you're interested in this, so here's another possible twist. Some readers have noticed a similarity between the current art in Nancy and the webcomic Imogen Quest. Encouraging newbies to reply on archive page[edit]

I notice that you have recently sent a few Teahouse talkback messages pointing to archive pages (such as here). The talkback message says "Feel free to reply there!" (as the talkback template was presumably not designed to be used with archive pages), so a newbie receiving your message might think that it is correct to reply on the archive page, which of course it isn't. The wording of the messages from Muninnbot is rather more appropriate, an example being here; apparently the bot was tested and will hopefully be active relatively soon. Prior to that, if you want to send messages pointing to archives perhaps you could develop a variant from WP:Teahouse/Teahouse talkback to change the wording appropriately? --David Biddulph (talk) 01:22, 5 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Good point. I was using just a link with the Help Desk. But I wasn't the first to use that variation of the Teahouse template for an already archived message. I don't know how to develop templates, but if I see no evidence that a person saw the message, I'll leave a link using that template. Unless the person comes back a lot or would know to come back as soon as the message was received. It does make more sense to link to the archived version. Sir John Arden who married Alicia Bracebrigge was wronfully killed in or about the time of The War of the roses. They had two children Thomas Arden and Greys Arden. Thomas Arden married Mary Maria Andrew and had eight children Simone Arden,Joyce Arden,George Arden,William Arden,Thomas,Arden,MAry Arden,Grace Arden And Sir Robert Arden Arden Story. Sir Robert Arden Story married Mary Webb who had children Agnes Arden,Jane Arden and twin brother Robert Storey,Mary Arden(mother of William Shakespeare),Joyce Arden,Margaret Arden, Thomas Arden, Alice Arden, and KAtherine Arden. Thank you for a good complete answer. My strong interest at this time is to improve the Thaddeus Golas stub and cause it to be a page rather than a stub. I have no other wikipedia projects but am willing to study the rules to accomplish making the Thaddeus Golas page excellent as he deserves. Searching for links to specific section name anchors[edit]

I ended up gaining confidence in my last comment on the question. I could not find a more specific technique than

linksto:"Hamlet chicken processing plant fire" insource:"actions"

which finds

... the [[Greensboro sit-ins#Actions at Woolworth|"Greensboro Four/A&T Four"]], who ...

Possibly more specific still could be

linksto:"Hamlet chicken processing plant fire" insource:"#actions"

but it seems insource ignores the '#' and gives the same results as the first.

My interest was aroused when I had complained to two other editors and got replies:

For some reason I never thought of this, yes, I should check for links to the sections I delete, thanks for pointing this out!
How am I supposed to know that the heading is being linked to? Editors usually place a hidden note at the target when they use an anchor, as per the guidance at WP:TARGET, but there wasn't one.

and then encountered the situation myself.

I did get brave enough to make the change I wanted.
