Luca Locatelli article[edit]

Hello Veronica.Strazzari, I hope you and yours are well.

Many aspects of the article are good, layout, heaps of refs and so on.

The comments about neutral language/encyclopaedic tone are probably about such phrases as "...is a multi-award winning Italian...", "He produces his stories in collaboration with editors, journalists, environmentalists and scientists in order to further contextualize his research.", "Deeply rooted in documentary and journalistic production, his work revolves around the ‘making’ of the future'"

What's wrong? To use an Australianism: "too sucky", you are repeating what appear to be very flattering words either from the artist themselves or from articles heavily praising them. More neutral language would be something like "He has won a number of awards, including ..." "His practice has been describes as a colloboration...<ref>, described as 'making of the future'",<ref> "so and so states that his work is deeply rooted in documentary and journalistic..."<ref> So here you are talking about what is, not you talking about how great the artist is (they may be, but leave the saying of that to quotes from reasonable sources). Quote the sources, but as a reporting of their views not as a mutual celebration of the artist. Multi-awards: what are they, a source saying "multi-awards" is a poor source of this info.

Wikipedia endeavours to be a neutral reporting of notable things (not always successful, all that television and commercial-music stuff), so that means in commenting on art and artists, who are they, what do they do, what do people say they do? Don't forget there may be negative criticism, it may be a minority, but it reflects the overall view of the work. If the criticism is ignorant, then that might be able to pointed out ("Even though the critic has never seen the work...), if it is offensive ("I hate this art because it is by a person with brown eyes"), then yeah ignore it, or include it with any published criticisms of that criticism.

Not exactly short and sweet advice, but I hope it is of help. Thank you for starting this article, I hope it gets to the point of publication, please continue with your good work. Brunswicknic (talk) 11:16, 10 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
