AfD nomination of Magic 1170[edit]

Magic 1170, an article you created, has been nominated for deletion. We appreciate your contributions. However, an editor does not feel that Magic 1170 satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in the nomination space (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and the Wikipedia deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Magic 1170 and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Magic 1170 during the discussion but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. Thank you.Shoessss 15:24, 14 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry to say DELETE. This is not to be taken as a negative to the company or the individual writing the article. However, there is a misconception that Wikipedia can and should be used as a directory (or as we call it State side: Yellow Pages) or a listing of companies. Sometimes we forget that the Wikipedia project is supposedly an encyclopedia providing a research tool for individuals to explore “Note” worthy items that are not widely known outside there small area or are widely known, but the individual would like additional information. All-in-all, I believe the article will be deleted. However, as I stated earlier, please do not take this as a derogatory statement to you as the author or the company you are writing about. It is just a state of affairs that I believe is not a good fit for Wikipedia at this time.[[ —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Shoessss (talk)

A tag has been placed on The Superstation, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you feel that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. ≈ The Haunted Angel 15:47, 5 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Trax FM[edit]

Hi there

I just want to ask why you deleted a section of verifiable information in the Trax FM article, with no reason given for its deletion either in the edit summary or the talk page:

Edit in question: http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Trax_FM&oldid=139039373

There is currently a dispute ongoing with that section, with one of the editors from the Lincs FM Group. --tgheretford (talk) 19:39, 18 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ignore that last message, my popup tool which shows edits made by editors is showing false information. Apologies. --tgheretford (talk) 19:42, 18 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Tim Finlay[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Tim Finlay, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you agree with the deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please add {{db-author}} to the top of Tim Finlay. A note..from me[edit]

  • You may notice from the above that many ofmy articles are being deleted. This doesnt annoy me as such, thereare obvious reasons to not icludearticles on wikipedia. BUT!! Every article I have started is just as important as many many many articles on wiki.
  • If one hospital radio station is included then they all should be, the fact is theyre all small scale broadcasters that on whole probably arnt that important but to the hospitals they serve they are VERY important.
  • Thompson Creative a world wide producer of radio jingles has been removed, yet other smaller jingle companies remain.
  • An article on Tim Finlay, a highly respected DJ and radio broadcaster in Yorkshire has been deleted. This guy broadcast on three different stations at the same time and was a household name yet some guy called Phil Holmes remains. Who the fuck is he!?No doubt this is a vanity piece created probably by Phil Holmes himself!!!
  • Now i know what the answer will be here. It'll be "yes, your right, you can nominate any articles for deletion" well, the fact is why should I bloody bother!? Id be nominating forever and a day! Its ridiculous, infact i'd go as far as saying that there are some wiki jobsworths who want to make a name for themselves by nominating for deletion. These people are cretins who have nothing better to do with there time. So, if per chance your reading this why not find someone elses articles to delete? FACT: ALL radio is important!

Proposed deletion of Radio Medica[edit]

Notice

The article 1278 and 1530 AM West Yorkshire has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Entire article is WP:OR and no sources are cited that would make the cut for WP:GNG. It seems that this was a short-lived temporary name for the radio station Pulse 2 and I cannot see why it needs its own article.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
