I'm sorry your first attempt at adding to Wikipedia seems to have been in vain - but I think we can at least mitigate that!
Here's some suggestions:
- The page you created was almost verbatim a copy/paste of the fotofest.org website. Wikipedia has a strict policy on copyright infringements - namely there can be none. So if you want to create an article on FotoFest, it will need to be at least rewritten.
- In order to create an article, it should be a "notable" organization / event. Please read Wikipedia's notability requirements. The short version is that there should be substantial coverage about FotoFest in reliable third-party sources.
- I recommend creating the article in your own userspace - meaning you can create any page under your username, like User:Vinodoscope/FotoFest. If/When the article is ready, you can move it out of your userspace into mainspace.

Eileen Maxson is a video and installation artist. Born in suburban Long Island, New York and raised there, in New Jersey and Texas, her work is known for its cynical and humorous portrayals of lonely suburban life. Maxson's work is filled with a myriad of historical, pop culture and media references from MTV's The Real World to Lyndon Baines Johnson. To date, most of her work is produced alone and features Maxson as the lone character. In spite of this she has rejected a common label as the "Cindy Sherman for the MySpace generation." [1]
Maxson first studied video while a photography student at the University of Houston and was early on introduced to pioneering Houston microcinema, The Aurora Picture Show and its dynamic founder Andrea Grover. Maxson's inclusion in the "Best of Aurora" video collections [2] was instrumental in exposing her work to critics both in and out of Texas. She initiated the film and video component of the Houston-based photographic biennial, FotoFest, in 2004.
In the early 2000s Maxson began to work in installation and completed her first video installation for the San Antonio's Cactus Bra art space [1].
In 2005 Maxson was named as a finalist for the inaugural Texas Prize, a $30,000 art prize established by the Austin, Texas non-profit Arthouse[2] and the largest art prize in the region at the time. Maxson was awarded the prize in a ceremony presided over by former Texas Governor Ann Richards. [3]
After winning the prize Maxson left Texas to pursue graduate studies at Carnegie-Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She will graduate in May 2008.
Maxon has shown at venues across the United States including screenings and exhibitions at Aurora Picture Show, Houston; Betty Rymer Gallery, Chicago; The Dallas Museum of Art, Dallas; DiverseWorks, Houston; Museo Tamayo de Arte Contemporáneo, Mexico City; LACMA, Los Angeles; New York Underground Film Festival, New York; Ocularis, Brooklyn; and the Portland Documentary and Experimental Film Festival, Portland.
