protocadherins[edit]

The notion that vampires could overcome a PCDH-Y deficiency by consuming it in their food is preposterous. Eaten PCDH-Y would be broken down in the stomach and intestines just as any other protein is. Even if vampires were to give themselves blood transfusions with PCDH-Y in solution there is no way that these molecules could get into the cells of the body where they are needed. Would be nice if you could come up with something more plausible.

Untagged image[edit]

An image you uploaded, Image:Montague-seal.jpg, was tagged with the {{coatofarms}} copyright tag. This tag was deleted because it does not actually specify the copyright status of the image. The image may need a more accurate copyright tag, or it may need to be deleted. If the image portrays a seal or emblem, it should be tagged as {{seal}}. If you have any questions, ask them at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. -- 13:43, 30 December 2006 (UTC)

Regarding the same image: {{Logo}} is not the correct tag, so I have removed it. That tag only works for official symbols, which is not the case here. If you believe it qualifies for fair use, you can add a fair use tag and rationale, but otherwise this image will have to be deleted. Valentinian T / C 23:20, 25 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I could not see any rhyme nor reason for James Bond (Reboot). I have moved it to User:Voldemort/sandbox. Please discuss the matter and obtain agreement before you copy it back to anywhere in the (Main) namespace. -- RHaworth 00:26, 30 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Unbreakable Comic book references[edit]

You need to state what Wikipedia policies would make comparing Unbreakable to comic book themes a valid addition to the article. I see absolutely NO encyclopedic value to it because it has ZERO references. That means that who ever came up with this stuff is citing there OWN knowledge of comic books and drawing comparisons to the film. That makes it original research and therefore invalid as a Wikipedia addition. My opinion on the subject is on the Unbreakable talk page. You need to site a valid reason there before you re-add this stuff. 69.72.2.72 20:51, 26 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Continual editing (and reverting edits) without stating any valid reason for you edits is going to identify you as a vandal or a troll and you will be dealt with according to Wikipedia policy. 69.72.2.72 12:56, 29 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image:Challenger dedication.jpg listed for deletion[edit]

Fair use rationale for Image:Hollowman-pic.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Hollowman-pic.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. GentlemanGhost 18:19, 9 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have perfomed a web search with the contents of Project Quicksilver, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.jnanabase.org/index.php/Project_Quicksilver. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot 10:46, 19 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Do not recreate this article. It was deleted per Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Project Quicksilver. Reposting it is disruptive to the project. If you want to challenge the deletion process, take it to Wikipedia:Deletion review. If you repost it again, you will be blocked. -- But|seriously|folks  14:49, 19 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Montague-seal.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Montague-seal.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 07:04, 13 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Hendley Associates[edit]

Hendley Associates, an article you created, has been nominated for deletion. We appreciate your contributions. However, an editor does not feel that Hendley Associates satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in the nomination space (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and the Wikipedia deletion policy). Your opinions on the matter are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Hendley Associates and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You are free to edit the content of Hendley Associates during the discussion but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion discussion. Speedy deletion of Project Quicksilver[edit]

A tag has been placed on Project Quicksilver, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion debate, such as at articles for deletion. Under the specified criteria, where an article has substantially identical content to that of an article deleted after debate, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Hello Voldemort, an automated process has found an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, such as fair use. The image (Image:PromoShot.jpg) was found at the following location: User:Voldemort/sandbox. This image or media will be removed per statement number 9 of our non-free content policy. The image or media will be replaced with Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg , so your formatting of your userpage should be fine. The image that was replaced will not be automatically deleted, but it could be deleted at a later date. Articles using the same image should not be affected by my edits. I ask you to please not readd the image to your userpage and could consider finding a replacement image licensed under either the Creative Commons or GFDL license or released to the public domain. Thanks for your attention and cooperation. User:Gnome (Bot)-talk 05:41, 17 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Voldemore. I'm just leaving you a note to let you know that the AN thread has been marked resolved. Your user subpage has been deleted. As noted in that thread, we cannot include material copied from other sources unless they are released under a license compatible with GFDL or we have express permission of the copyright holder. Lacking that express permission from scifi.com, we can't include this material here. While we also can't link to external sites that we know to be in violation of copyright, you can add a link to the archived version of that page from the relevant article.
Please don't paste material here taken from other places without ensuring that it complies. For legal reasons, we cannot host text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material in article or user space; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. Thank you. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 13:32, 8 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

File source problem with File:Tinmanmovie.jpg[edit]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Tinmanmovie.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 05:24, 24 January 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. -- Collectonian (talk · contribs) 05:24, 24 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment.
