A tag has been placed on Dubatolov requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. SudoGhost 00:07, 3 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome![edit]

Hello Vvdubat, first of all, welcome to wikipedia and thumbs up for the work you are doing. Could I give you some small pointers? First of all, if a genus is monotypic, could you include the details of the species in the article? See for an example: Micrarctia. It would be great if you also redirect the name of the species to the genus. To do this, type the name of the species in the search box. You arrive at a page saying "there is no such article on wikipedia". Click on the red link and type: #REDIRECT Name of genus. Then click save. You can do the same for synonyms. Furthermore, if a genus is now a synonym or subgenus, replace the existing article with a redirect to the current valid genus. There is no need to keep the page for a synonym or subgenus. If you have any questions, let me know, I will try to help you out! Ruigeroeland (talk) 10:20, 10 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

To change a redirect, type the name of the redirect in the search box and click "go". You will arrive at the page the redirect redirects to. If you look closely at the top-left of the page, you see the name of the article, below that you see the text "From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia" and below that, you see "(Redirected from ....)". The "...." are the name you searched for. Click on that and you will arrive at the redirect page. This page you can edit like a normal page. I hope this makes sense. If not, let me know and I will try to explain again..! Ruigeroeland (talk) 10:08, 11 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Great! If you have any questions, feel free to ask. Are you by any chance the entomologist who described many of these genera and species himself? If so: great you are willing to share your knowledge on wikipedia..! Ruigeroeland (talk) 10:42, 11 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Request[edit]

Hello Mister Dubatov. I am wondering if you could help me out finding a source. I am working on creating lists of the Lepidoptera of various countries. I have made quite a few already (see my test page at User:Ruigeroeland/Sandbox3), but like to make as much as possible. To make a list for Russia, I would like access to the publication: "Каталог чешуекрылых (Lepidoptera) России" or "Catalogue of the Lepidoptera of Russia" or "Katalog cešuekrylych (Lepidoptera) rossii". I am wondering if you have access to this publication? If so: I would be very happy if you could send me a digital copy somehow. I would only need the list of recorded species. The rest is in Russian, so I could not read it anyway. Cheers and thanks in advance! Ruigeroeland (talk) 09:20, 27 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your reply! I will contact him and ask if he can send it to me. I have found a copy online, but it is a scan, so it will take ages to get all the names in a list. An excel sheet would be very welcome..! Thanks again for your help! Ruigeroeland (talk) 06:52, 28 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
