Greek Salad (TV series)[edit]

“Greek Salad” (Salade Grec”) is an eight-episode French television series created by Cédric Klapisch. It follows on from the director's trilogy, which began in 2002 with L'Auberge Espagnole (The Spanish Inn). The series will be broadcast on Prime Video from April 14, 2023.

Synopsis[edit]

Tom and Mia, the children of Wendy and Xavier Rousseau — now separated — inherit a building in Athens that belonged to their recently-deceased grandfather. While working in a start-up in New York, Tom finds his little sister in the Greek capital. There, he discovers that Mia, supposed to be studying within the Erasmus program, is actually an activist trying to help refugees in Greece. She makes her brother promise not to tell their parents. As their parents did 25 years before in Barcelona, Tom and Mia will meet many young Europeans in Athens, in an apartment that has become a real "Spanish inn".

Episodes[edit]

Eight 52-minute episodes have been made.

Cast[edit]

Aliocha Schneider : Tom

Megan Northam : Mia

Romain Duris : Xavier Rousseau

Cécile de France : Isabelle

Kevin Bishop : William

Kelly Reilly : Wendy

Barnaby Metschurat : Tobias

Production[edit]

The series was announced in March 2019. Cédric Klapisch was quoted as saying: “For the moment I have not yet chosen the city, nor the country. I have to investigate a bit, but I am thinking of Greece to talk about the new Europe. […] Today’s Europe is that of Brexit, that of doubt, that of questioning the relationship with the environment.” WDH59 (talk) 18:00, 14 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
