Welcome![edit]

Hello, WHSP, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was Washington H. Soul Pattinson, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, visit the Teahouse, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! — rsjaffe 🗣️ 00:01, 14 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Rsjaffe
I work for Washington H Soul Pattinson as head of corporate affairs. My main intention is to update our logo, which changed in December 2023. How do i complete this? We are no longer are associated with the bronze/brown circular logo with WHSP and completed a rebrand last year. The new logo is "Soul Patts" in plain black as reflected on our corporate website https://www.soulpatts.com.au/
I was updating the description to accurately reflect our current investment portfolio - this was done without bias. Can i send the copy here for you to proofread? I find the process quite confusing, any help would be appreciated so that Wikipedia is up to date.
With thanks,

You can fix simple factual things like logos. See WP:LOGO, particularly the section on non-free logos, for instructions. You should put the following on the talk page for the company:
{{Connected contributor (paid)|User1=yourusernamehere|U1-employer=Washington H Soul Pattinson |U1-client=Washington H Soul Pattinson}}
Note that you need to change your user name, and substitute that for yourusernamehere in the above-mentioned template. We don’t allow people to use a company name. I’ll add a notice to this page about your username. It will have instructions. — rsjaffe 🗣️ 01:53, 14 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I can also help with removing bias from copy. Put your request on the talk page for the company and include the template {{ping|rsjaffe}} in your remarks. Be sure to sign your remarks with four tildes ~~~~ or the ping won’t work. — rsjaffe 🗣️ 01:59, 14 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
See WP:COIE for more info on editing with a conflict of interest. — rsjaffe 🗣️ 02:02, 14 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

May 2024[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "WHSP", may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because The name represents a company. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may ask for a change of username by completing the form at Special:GlobalRenameRequest, or you may simply create a new account for editing. Thank you. — rsjaffe 🗣️ 01:54, 14 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
