There has been quite many Finnish-language encyclopedias. I added a list of some of the noteworthiest ones here. :) – Haltiamieli (talk) 12:32, 25 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks a lot! I updated the list both regarding Finnish and other additions made to the List of encyclopedias by language since this page was created. How cool that you noticed this page :) --Waldir talk 16:46, 25 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Your list was mentioned in Meta-Wiki on a page about new fundraising banner ideas, that's how I happened to wander here. :) Haltiamieli (talk) 12:10, 26 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, now it makes sense :D --Waldir talk 20:40, 26 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Waldir. This is such a great list! One question: I noticed that this info has no citations. I only ask about it because we'd like to use this list publicly. Do you know how we might verify that it's accurate? Nice work! Mokapantages (talk) 00:08, 9 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Unfortunately, my "method", as described in the Yahoo Answers page, was simply to compare List of encyclopedias by language against List of Wikipedias. The second will probably be fairly accurate, but the first carries the usual risks of incompleteness/incorrectness, which might be low, but we can't be 100% sure. Maybe some of these could be more credible, though hardly more complete, I suppose. --Waldir talk 20:37, 18 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Waldir, Thanks for compiling this! I have been using the University of Washington database, found here. By checking this list, I have removed the encyclopedias that have been archived to have physical counterparts. This is an exciting topic to think and know more about, thanks for starting the page!
