Help me! (Since I'm a noob in giving to wikis instead of only sucking info... Maybe the tag attracts knowledged people. So I just appended to the suggested headline)[edit]

Help me with...

It might be in a FAQ and I didn't succeed in finding it...

But...

Sometimes I read an article where a certain name is mentioned very often.

I ask myself 'Should only the first mention be clickable? Would making them ALL clickable be blatantly overkill? Why are there so many links to the page I'm on?'

Ihanks for advice... Washuu de (talk) 13:25, 10 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. In most cases, the idea is that a specific page is linked only once. Certain exceptions apply, e.g. there is often another link in infoboxes. The idea is that if too many words have a link beneath them, the article will look cluttered and hard to read. You can read more about it on Wikipedia:Overlinking. I hope this answers you question. If you have any further question, please feel free to place a help tag again! Cheers. ~ twsx | talkcont | ~ 13:42, 10 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
