Jerry Lewis films[edit]

Do you plan on adding the same Jerry Lewis interview link to every Jerry Lewis film on Wikipedia? I agree with it being on Lewis' page, and on the Martin and Lewis page, but not every film. Please understand that only items relevant to the films should be on each page, not things that are relevant only to the actor in question. Donaldd23 (talk) 20:02, 12 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Yes, I did finally read his book...in one sitting! It was wonderful.

As for the interview, I was in the process of watching it now (thanks for the link), but so far I still stand by my original statement...it belongs on Jerry's page (and perhaps even the Martin and Lewis page), but not on individual film pages. The references to a specific film are not easily found in the interview (for example, I can't click on a link to go right to the point where he talks about his first film) and if someone is looking for information for just one particular film, they can't spend hours watching an interview hoping to see the 5 minute reference to the film in question. However, someone reading up on Jerry Lewis would be willing to sit through the whole thing, not just looking for any specific part, which makes it relevant to his article. Having it on any (or all) of his film pages diminishes its value, and sets a bad precedent on Wikipedia...it would tend to make anyone think that they can add a link to anything on the Internet that has even just a passing reference to the article they are reading. This makes the article less encyclopedic and more exploitative...if that makes any sense. If we were to allow it here, where would we stop? Should every article for films that Ronald Reagan appeared in have links to external sites that reference his political career, even if those sites make a casual reference to the film in question? I hope this helps you understand my viewpoint, and why Wikipedia limits the type of external links that an article should have. Donaldd23 (talk) 21:09, 12 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Whistling Skull[edit]

Yeah, diggin' that title! But oh, did that lack of a synopsis bring back some unpleasant memories of a few years ago. There was a series of anon IP's from SBC Global dropping and leaving similar stubs, only a lot less complete. I dubbed him the "B-Movie Bandit." We thought it was either a bot or another rather prolific vandal of the day named the "South Carolina Vandal" who strung us all along by ignoring all attempts at contact. For example, let's say there wasn't a previous entry for "Star Wars." His would have read: "The 1977 movie Star Wars stars Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher." That's it. There were those who'd delete the nonsense but there were others who defended them as legit stubs (which they were not). I know that guy was laughing his butt off. When they finally made me an administrator, the nonsense stopped because he knew I'd blow him out of the water. List of characters in the Indiana Jones series[edit]

Invisible Stripes[edit]

Hi. I've moved the George Raft picture, but I'm curious about why it didn't display correctly for you. I looked at it under Fireforx, Safari and IE, on both regular and wide screens, and in none of these does it do what you describe. The picture looks perfectly spaced after you moved it. There was a notation about spacing and not changing the spacing that I've never seen anything quite like on Wikipedia and I believe that was probably the culprit. Thanks for fixing this. The photo is much better below the Infobox than above it but I couldn't seem to be able to move it around the way I normally can. There was nothing unusual about anything aside from that, but I was getting the snapshot in an altogether weird place and had difficulty moving it and I have no idea why.
