Image without license[edit]

Unspecified source/license for File:Flag of the United Mexican States (1916-1934).gif[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Flag of the United Mexican States (1916-1934).gif. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|cc-by-sa-4.0}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

Template:FIFA World Cup Comprehensive team results by tournament has been nominated for deletion. You are invited to comment on the discussion at the entry on the Templates for discussion page. Place Clichy (talk) 15:23, 15 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The file File:Flag of the United Mexican States (1916-1934).gif has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unused, superseded by File:Flag of Mexico (1916–1934).svg.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.

Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. --Minorax«¦talk¦» 13:20, 30 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution[edit]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from FIFA World Cup records and statistics into Draft:Template: FIFA World Cup Overall Team Records. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 23:25, 31 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the feedback. I've added the Copied template to the Talk page.
My goal with creating the Template is to be able to include this content from FIFA World Cup records and statistics on National team appearances in the FIFA World Cup, but have only a single place where the statistics needed to be updated when appropriate (i.e. during future World Cups). Currently National team appearances in the FIFA World Cup links to the section of FIFA World Cup records and statistics with this content, but I think National team appearances in the FIFA World Cup should have the content on the page without the need to go to another page. From what I can tell, a Template is the best way to accomplish this, but I'm new this this level of editing, so if there is a better way to meet this goal, I'd appreciate any suggestions.
