Cities in Virginia[edit]

To let you know, since this has come up on a few occasions, cities in Virginia are independent from their surrounding counties. Therefore, despite being entirely surrounded by Augusta County, the cities of Staunton and Waynesboro are NOT part of Augusta County. They are three completely separate jurisdictions. Please do not continue to add information about Staunton and Waynesboro to material about Augusta County, and please do not add information about Augusta County to material about Staunton and Waynesboro. I AM TICKED OFF[edit]

Look, Mr.Schuminn, Have you ever been to Staunton, Virginia? You know that it has a lot of very very interesting buildings, and you know that the page here on wikipedia does not tell anything about the city. And i hope you know what White Star Mills is. I have many more pictures of staunton, and I know a lot about its history. First of all, calm down. That said, as for whether or not I have ever been to Staunton, yes. I have. Many times. I live in Stuarts Draft. And therefore I am quite familiar with Staunton. My concern is not as much the image, but the watermark contained therein - the date stamp. The date stamp needs to go, that's just all there is to it. I'm neutral on the image itself. The stamp can easily be photoshopped out of the image with very little effort - even more so since the object that the datestamp is sitting on is out of focus. Staunton Post Office[edit]

Oh mighty Dude of the Weather, I have a sneaking suspicion that you are not 110 years old and that you are not the creator of the Staunton Post Office image. (I figured that you probably had to have been born by 1897 to be old enough to take the pic in 1909.) I realize that saying you are the creator is the easy way to get a pic into the WP, but in this case it is clearly not true. You might want to sort it out before someone else notices. Check out the Wikipedia:Uploading_images page. The short of it is that if you didn't make it, you have to contact the site you took it from to find the image owner to get permission. The image policy supposedly specifies what is needed for adequate proof of permission.

For the lazy submitter, like myself, I don't upload any images that I don't take, period. Since I don't take any pictures suitable for the WP, I don't submit images at all. –BozoTheScary 14:31, 10 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You know whether or not you created the images in question. As we discussed last night, I would like to see you do the right thing and change the licensing on these photos.
