Notability of Culbann C.P.C[edit]

A tag has been placed on Culbann C.P.C, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (below the existing db tag) and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. --Finngall talk 21:14, 10 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the additional info. I've removed the speedy tag. --Finngall talk 21:52, 10 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for Image:Shoot off for England High Gun.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Shoot off for England High Gun.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 22:10, 10 April 2007 (UTC)

Image copyright problem with Image:Dtllayout.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Dtllayout.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Dtllayout.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Dtllayout.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 23:36, 29 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

County Londonderry[edit]

I appreciate your thoughts on this, and for taking the time to come forward and say as much but I've changed it back. And I'll explain why. On Wikipedia the encyclopaedia strives for neutrality and not representing a particular POV. However, having said that the official line and the statements of a government or official body in an area holds much greater weight than that of some people who simply don't like something and change the name. There has never in the history of Ireland been a County Derry, only ever a County Londonderry and that is the official name of the county. Some people do call it County Derry, and I would never take away their rights to do so. In fact I believe that if the government just officially bowed to the will of the majority of residents in the area things would be much simpler and easier, but alas this isn't the case. No one on Wikipedia is removing the rights of anyone to call it what they wish, or referring to it in any manner in which they please, but on Wikipedia when we are discussing the geographical/political area of the county we have to use County Londonderry and it's not from any bigoted sense, but from neutrality. To refer to it as anything else would in fact be pushing a bias. I have a personal opinion on what it should be called, but I will never reveal that opinion on Wikipedia as it isn't the place for it. As a result it has been changed back. I appreciate your position and understand what you are saying. But I'm sure you can appreciate Wikipedia's position here as well. Canterbury Tail talk 00:23, 28 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

There has never been a County Derry in the history of Ireland, that's well known. County Londonderry was created in 1613 from County Coleraine and bits of the surrounding counties of Antrim, Donegal and Tyrone I believe. There wasn't a preceding County Derry. The County Doire thing arose as the name was never accepted by some people who created the name of County Doire or County Derry to call it themselves. However a county by that name has never officially existed as anything other than an alternative name that some people use to refer to County Londonderry. Please kindly check your history. As for my neutrality I believe I've roughly equally been called a republican (expletives) and unionist pig so in many cases people on both sides think I'm part of the other side just because history and actuality don't match their view of the world. Canterbury Tail talk 12:12, 28 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

County Derry[edit]

Please refrain from altering references to County Londonderry to read County Derry. No one disputes that the clubs mentioned previously themselves use the address of County Derry on their websites and in their own correspondence, but this is Wikipedia and the reasons for using County Londonderry has been explained for you. The preferences of the club does not matter to Wikipedia, a neutral encyclopaedia. On Wikipedia we use County Londonderry to refer to the geographic political entity of the county, not County Derry as to use County Derry would be pushing a POV. So please stop altering the references to County Londonderry. Canterbury Tail talk 02:37, 29 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Accountancy task force[edit]

Hello, this message is being sent to you since you are an interested participant of the Accountancy task force. This is just a heads-up that the task force has been expanded with new features and its main page modified. Now that the task force has assessed over 800 articles in its scope, a breakdown can be seen of the quality of articles. A new userbox can be added to your page, and if you know of a editor contributing to accounting articles, a welcoming template can be used to invite the editor to join the task force. If you haven't already, consider watchlisting the main discussion page. There is currently a discussion about adding a template to some main accounting topics that would benefit from input by other editors. Feel free to leave feedback on the discussion page for further improving these new features. Happy editing! --Nehrams2020 (talk) 07:37, 14 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for File:England team on stand.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:England team on stand.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 18:05, 17 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • We don't accept images as permission to use on Wikipedia. Either they are freely licensed or they are not. If not, they must be used under terms of fair use here. Permission to use is meaningless to us. --Hammersoft (talk) 18:39, 17 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
thanks for the info. Weeman com (talk) 00:10, 18 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Dear uploader: The media file you uploaded as File:England team on stand.jpg has been listed for speedy deletion because you selected a copyright license type implying some type of restricted use, such as for non-commercial use only, or for educational use only or for use on Wikipedia by permission. While it might seem reasonable to assume that such files can be freely used on Wikipedia, this is in fact not the case[1][2]. Please do not upload any more files with these restrictions on them, because images on Wikipedia need to be compatible with the GNU Free Documentation License or another free license, which allow anyone to use it for any purpose, commercial or non-commercial. See our non-free content guidelines for more more information.

If you created this media file and want to use it on Wikipedia, you may re-upload it (or amend the image description if it has not yet been deleted) and use the license {{GFDL-self}} to license it under the GFDL, or {{cc-by-sa-3.0}} to license it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license, or use {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain.

If you did not create this media file, please understand that the vast majority of images found on the internet are not appropriate for Wikipedia. Most content on the internet is copyrighted and the creator of the image has exclusive rights to use it. Wikipedia respects the copyrights of others - do not upload images that violate others' copyrights. In certain limited cases, we may be able to use an image under a claim of fair use - if you are certain that fair use would apply here, you may choose one of the fair use tags from this list. If no fair use rationale applies, you may want to contact the copyright holder and request that they make the media available under a free license.

If you have any questions please ask at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you. —teb728 t c 22:25, 17 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You'll need to show some evidence that the owner of the copyright has released their rights. Also, I suggest, you leave it up to somebody else to remove the speedy deletion tag. The admin will not delete the file without first confirming that it qualifies for deletion. --Rob (talk) 00:30, 18 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Culbann C.P.C[edit]

I have nominated Culbann C.P.C, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Culbann C.P.C. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

An article you created maybe deleted soon: Tools which can help you[edit]

The article you created: Culbann_C.P.C may be deleted from Wikipedia.

There is an ongoing debate about whether your article should be deleted here:

The faster you respond on this page, the better chance the article you created can be saved.

Finding sources which mention the topic of your article is the very best way to avoid an article being deleted {{Findsources3}}:

Find sources for Culbann_C.P.C: google news recent, google news old, google books, google scholar, NYT recent, NYT old, a9, msbooks, msacademic ...You can then cite these results in the Article for deletion discussion.

Also, there are several tools and helpful editors on Wikipedia who can help you:

1. List the page on Article Rescue Squadron. You can get help listing your page on the Article Rescue Squadron talk page.
2. At any time, you can ask any administrator to move your article to a special page. (Called userfication)
3. You can request a mentor to help you: Wikipedia:Adopt-a-User. But don't wait for a mentor to respond to you before responding on the article for deletion page.
4. When trying to delete a page, veteran editors love to use a lot of rule acronyms. These acronyms don't need to intimidate you. Here is a list of acronyms you can use yourself: Deletion debate acronyms, which will help you argue that the article should be kept.

If your page is deleted, you also have many options available. Good luck! Ikip (talk) 00:44, 18 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

sources for Culbann C.P.C[edit]

Hi. You can look at Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners and {{cite news}}. But don't worry if you can't format sources perfectly. What's critical is you provide all the information can you can about your sources in the body of the article. Include the publication, edition, volume, publisher, date, page, author, etc... (whatever is applicable). Include short quotes where appropriate (not lengthy ones, which are a copyright problem). For each factual claim in the article give a cite supporting. After the information is in place, you and others, can then worry about fixing up the formatting. --Rob (talk) 20:08, 20 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Silhouette (Singer/Songwriter) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Where did you hear that the Nibris Youtube channel is not official? They claim to represent Nibris, and have uploaded material that is not on the official website. Not that I don't believe it could be fake, but I'm curious as to where you got that information. Gatotsu911 (talk) 13:31, 28 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • I am a member of IGN under the same name on wikipedia (weeman_com), there was a member called Twilight_Prince who was apparently in contact with Nibris and in turn the guys behind nibris sent him images to keep for himself, but he ultimately showed a couple of people. Revolutionika was well known to have made the nibris page to pre verbally "take the piss" out of nibris and its supporters. That is why the videos are all made with (by the looks of it) with windows movie makers, as they are all just image slide shows. The images on there that have not been officially released by nibris are some of the images that Twilight_Prince received and shared. Revolutionika also was always the one to alert the lobby of new videos on this channel and therefore members of the boards sent the links to other websites for exposure. This was all a very long time ago, Twilight_Prince and Revolutionika both for other reasons received an upto 1 year ban from the boards, thus explaining why there hasnt been any new videos on the channel for such a long time.Weeman com (talk) 18:03, 28 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File source problem with File:The club house and carpark at the shooting ground..jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:The club house and carpark at the shooting ground..jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 17:32, 27 December 2010 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. File permission problem with File:Panoramic view from the hill.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Panoramic view from the hill.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Kelly hi! 17:32, 27 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Image issues[edit]

I saw your post on Kelly's talk page and though you might be interested in my image copyright information page that I wrote for people like yourself to explain the various copyright issues in one place. Perhaps you will find it useful. None of us want to alienate constructive contributing editors but we do take copyright status very seriously and because many people upload images with bad or false licences we have to be very careful and need to confirm the source and licencing. Good luck. ww2censor (talk) 05:47, 6 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

frankly its pissed me off to the point, i am not re-uploading the images at this time, there was information describing the copyright linked to the images. A bit of reading and understanding, or maybe first a quick chat with me would have resolved any issues without the need for a speedy deletion. You may not want to alienate, but kelly has done so, and when i was originally dealing with the copyright i did have the help of an experienced user, and he then deemed the information apt. my aim was to try and improve wikipedia within the specific area to clay shooting in the UK and the discipline of DTL. But its obvious wikipedia doesnt want it.Weeman com (talk) 16:04, 8 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
