Re: Uploading created images[edit]

There are four tags -- which one should I use??? I ask this because I'm getting ready to upload an image for my user page and it contains of online and offline items (i.e.: Scripps Howard's lighthouse logo is displayed on it but everything else I did myself using PhotoImpression)... What do you suggest that is reasonable??? --WIKISCRIPPS 07 MON NOV 13 2006 9:29 PM EST

Help[edit]

I am working on an article but the only way to get to it is to search the Exact name that I used when i created the article. Most people being lazy will forget to capatilize the first letters and forget the apostrophe. My article is Programmer's Notepad and i want it so that when u search things like programmers notepad, it shows in the results or some way you can get to the article Charlie Da Tuna 17:32, 6 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You can redirect programmers notepad to Programmer's Notepad by creating the page programmers notepad and adding "#REDIRECT [[Programmer's Notepad]]" (without the quotes) to it.--Werdan7T @ 18:01, 6 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I was able to redirect it, thank you much. Charlie Da Tuna 18:11, 6 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Health Wiki Research[edit]

A colleague and I are conducting a study on health wikis. We are looking at how wikis co-construct health information and create communities. We noticed that you are a frequent contributor to Wikipedia on health topics.

Please consider taking our survey here.

This research will help wikipedia and other wikis understand how health information is co-created and used.

We are from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia. The project was approved by our university research committee and members of the Wikipedia Foundation.

I've noticed something...[edit]

addOnloadHook(function(){ document.getElementById("ca-nstab-user").firstChild.innerHTML = "home";});

This works as do all the others but when I go to add more:

addOnloadHook(function(){ document.getElementById("ca-nstab-main").firstChild.innerHTML = "home";});

It does not work. Is there a universal code I could use for all of them? Thanks, «razorclaw» 15:55, 9 April 2007 (UTC)

It works[edit]

Help Me -- Tables / Column Width[edit]

Hi. Thanks. I had done what you suggested. But my columns seem to increase / decrease based on the width of the longest entry in that column. Do you know how to "fix" that? What is a pixel? Maybe that is where my problem lies? Thanks. (JosephASpadaro 02:33, 26 April 2007 (UTC)) [reply]

Deletion log.[edit]

Thanks, but the information was not too useful. I wanted to see the old article and discover how the editor did the violation. Is there any more recoverable data? Thanks!

--akc9000 (talk contribs count) 05:13, 26 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I know what the deletion log says. But I wanted to see what the editor actually did to confirm the actions taken. Plus it is always good to know what others have done wrong. I am working on cleaning up networking issues and this article came to my attention from a wiki link from a page I was looking at. --akc9000 (talk contribs count) 13:52, 26 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Album art: redux[edit]

Hi Werdan7,

I'm new to editing Wiki. I saw that you answered a question from another user about uploading album art: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Help_desk#Album_Covers
I have the exact same question. I clicked the link on the album page in question that says "Click here to upload cover image". It allowed me to upload the image to Wikipedia, which I did, but the image does not link back to the original page. Here are the items in question:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Frank_-_Devil%27s_Got_Your_Gold.jpg

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Devil%27s_Got_Your_Gold

Can you please advise me on what I need to do to have the image appear on the album page? It's ok if you go ahead and fix this one, but please let me know how I can do it myself in the future (or what I did wrong that it didn't link automatically).
Thanks a million for your assistance!

Success![edit]

Thanks Werdan. Your explanation was perfect, my main problem was that I hadn't yet discovered the very obvious "edit this page" tab at the top. Indeed, a true rookie. Cheers!

Renaming categories[edit]

Same response I gave WoDuP... Thanks for the info [and, in your case, for just going ahead and doing it!]. I have to apologize because no sooner had I added the {{helpme}} than I found the directions on my own. I should have researched more thoroughly before copping out and troubling others for the info. My talk page[edit]

Thank you for reverting the vandalism. When I first saw the actual vandalism, there was one thought that came into my head, as to why they would vandalize my page, who they are. A couple months ago, there was a dispute between me and Chrisjnelson (talk · contribs), and he made a statement (which he claims wasn't directed at me, but he was reverting an edit I made) and he said "removing nazi propaganda". Because the vandalism was the user putting a large swastika on my talk page, and since that was the symbol of the Nazi party, do you think there might be some sort of connection? Ksy92003(talk) 18:43, 21 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Chris is currently blocked for a week (expires Tuesday) which is why I'm somewhat suspicious. Do you think I should request a checkuser as a precaution? Or is it not significant enough in your opinion? Ksy92003(talk) 18:48, 21 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Deleting Content, Methane[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed content from Methane. When removing text, please specify a reason in the edit summary and discuss edits that are likely to be controversial on the article's talk page. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the text has been restored, as you can see from the page history. Blocked[edit]

Judging from the massive amount of reverts others have been doing because of your edits, you will end up being blocked. Please refrain from doing this in the future. Thanks, -Razorflame (talk) 05:18, 23 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Lawrence Dimick[edit]

I didn't vandalise the article, I didn't mean to delete the info just move it to another page but I don't know how to do that so I just copied it to a new page Lawrence Dimmick since Dimick is a spelling mistake, is you look at my other edits on that article, they were massive improvements.--Dominik92 (talk) 06:14, 23 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Just a question by the way, how do I create a new article using the content in one article, since the title in the original is wrong?--Dominik92 (talk) 06:18, 23 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
