Hey i was just wondering where i could find out more info on this topic "the recently-announced Companion book will expand on Aegon's War of Conquest and may warrant that war getting its own page eventually" that you mentioned? Thanks--Cybroleach 21:43, 3 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

war of the usurper[edit]

I noticed your recounting of the war does not mention the fighting in the Vale where Gulltown supported Aerys and had to be put down before Robert could sail south. I wanted to mention this to you rather than change anything because you did that elaborate map.--Cybroleach 00:37, 1 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Nope, the map is not mine. To be honest, I only started looking at the ASoIaF pages in the last few days.--Werthead 22:08, 1 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Mediation[edit]

Would you be willing to be a participant in a Offical Mediation in regards to Mystar and the Terry Goodkind / Sword of Truth articles? NeoFreak 16:44, 29 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I understand your fatigue in having to deal with Mystar (trust me) and I also understand your concerns that your simple presence will just anger him. But guess what? It's not his wikipedia. Your participation will help alot and I hope you change your mind but if not thanks anyway. NeoFreak 17:47, 29 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

AfD[edit]

The Aegon I Targaryen page is up for AfD. Plese weigh in. NeoFreak 12:11, 31 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Malazan series[edit]

Hi Werthead, I'm trying to expand the MBotF pages into something comparable to the other fantasy series out there. I've added pages for the T'lan Imass, Forkrul Assail, K'Chain Che'Malle and Jaghut, and will probably start on the Tiste soon. Mostly I'm looking for some help as I don't have time to re-read the entire series to catch up on anything I'm missing. I'd love some assistance, and you are one of the few here who seems to regularly contribute to the pages, so I thought I'd put in a request. I also echoed your request for assistance on the malazanempire forums (same username, yesterday) to help expand the wikipedia entries, but so far nothing new. 'Course it was only yesterday, short notice even for the internet generation. I could also offer some minor help on the Night's Dawn series, but not a whole lot 'cause I only read them once and my memory ain't what it used to be. Any ideas or assistance would be great. Thanks, WLU 13:35, 22 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sick of Mystar[edit]

Hi Werthead, I'm soliciting comments regarding Mystar, he's really pissing me off and I'm sick of it. I'm putting in a request for comments in a bit, in the mean time I'm soliciting people who've been pissed off by him in the past. If you're willing to have any input, I'm asking for help. Both people involved are scrutinized, so if there are comments where I've pissed you off or made stupid comments, I would also like those - they'll help me improve my conduct. I'm also posting this on other people's page, check my contribs for this chunk of time. I realize you're not involved in the TG page anymore (come to think of it, looking at your contribs I don't think you ever have), but you've had experience with him on other pages, mostly GRRM. Pics for Wiki[edit]

Hi Werthead,

You're on the MBotF forums, right? I was wondering if you knew of any fan art that could be added to any of the pages? Specifically I was thinking of the Races of the Malazan Book of the Fallen page. WLU 17:20, 2 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Name[edit]

Werthead, Ive seen you here and on a forum out there in the ether, and I would like to know if your name has anything to do with the brewing process, i.e. wert- uncarbonated beer. SuicideRun (talk) 10:30, 14 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image (Image:WikiFullASoIaFSizeEdit.JPG)[edit]

⚠

Thanks for uploading Image:WikiFullASoIaFSizeEdit.JPG. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Polly (Parrot) 23:51, 24 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Feel free to delete. The image quality downgraded significantly in the upload process and I couldn't get the size right on it.--Werthead (talk) 00:11, 25 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Song of Fire and Ice edits[edit]

While it is great that you are adding citations, you might want to take a closer look at WP:CITE, whi9ch will help you better formulate/present your references, also making sure that they are reliable. I will wait a day or two and see if you redo those references. If they aren't done by Monday or Teusday, I will remove the parenthetical references as they currently are. - 216.80.66.205 (talk) 17:20, 21 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, but it would help if you specified what the issues were. The citations are to either GRRM's officially-recognised fan website (and indeed his own words), referenced quotes to Joe Abercrombie's own website, to the New York Times, and to Scott Lynch's publisher's interview with him in which he mentions GRRM as an influence. What is the issue? And I would reply on your talk page but I note that you posted this message anonymously, which makes that difficult.--Werthead (talk) 19:19, 21 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Anar[edit]

Hi Werthead,

Ran made a remark in AWOIAF about the city of Anar. I was curious and tried to find where the reference came from. You added it long time ago to the Wars_in_A_Song_of_Ice_and_Fire page. Do you remember where it came from? Regards, Scafloc (talk) 19:39, 31 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It's from a reading of Tyrion's second chapter in ADWD. There's a report on it on Westeros.org in the A Feast for Crows forum and then the A Dance with Dragons subforum.--Werthead (talk) 00:08, 2 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

An Invite to join Novels WikiProject[edit]

Hi, you are cordially invited to join the Novels WikiProject! As you may have guessed, we're a group of editors working to improve Wikipedia's coverage of topics related to fiction books often referred to as "Novels". We make no length distinction so all narrative prose fiction is of interest. This includes Novels, novellas, novelettes and short stories. Articles about the works themselves and the forms and genres.

As you have shown an interest in Steven Erikson we thought you might like to take an interest in this well established WikiProject.
You might like to take an extra interest in our Fantasy task force
You might like to take an extra interest in our Sword of Truth task force
We look forward to welcoming you to the project! Alan16 (talk) 18:08, 20 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

WoT Wiki[edit]

I don't know which you were talking about here. If you've never seen the Tar Valon wiki, it's 100% better than the Wikia page, which is much lighter on content, details, and is spammed by Wikia's massive ads. Compare Galad vs Galad. :) rootology (C)(T) 05:13, 15 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Reply re:abercrombie et al[edit]

Hola Werth,

Your comment on my talk page is a bit vague and doesn't let me see the problem (I'll have a look at the relevant talk pages as well). I don't really see much of a problem, though if Joe has a couple awards or even nominations, adding them to the page would pretty much destroy any reason to even consider deleting the pages. I'll opine on the talk pages. WLU (t) (c) Wikipedia's rules:simple/complex 00:30, 11 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I wouldn't worry about it, SynthFin is tripping a bunch of warning bells for me. Keep cool and don't bother responding to absurd comments, he might be trolling for a reaction.
In the fishing sense, of course, to say he was a the mythical creature is just rude. Ha.
Gimme a couple minutes, I'm refining my comments on the talk pages. In the mean time, if you haven't already, I'd suggest adding the awards and stuff to the JA page. I'm harping on that mostly because it's the best way to call bullshit on an AFD discussion. WLU (t) (c) Wikipedia's rules:simple/complex 00:46, 11 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Synthfin is pissing me off and doesn't seem to understand notability. Frankly, until he's coming up with reliable sources to support his point, I'd just ignore him. I would love to see him AFD either of the pages - Rothfuss would almost certainly pass with a speedy keep, Abercrombie would probably survive the discussion and AFDs have a way of getting people to add relevant sources to the page. "Rumourmills" are worthless, until there's sources to support his point, he's wasting everyone's time. WLU (t) (c) Wikipedia's rules:simple/complex 14:34, 11 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Wars in A Song of Ice and Fire[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Wars in A Song of Ice and Fire, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

no third party sourcing, non-notable fancruft

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. -- The Red Pen of Doom 01:59, 28 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Steven Erikson[edit]

Hi. Just posting a short note to apologise for reverting your addition of the Crack'd Pot Trail novella. I mistook the addition of a novel with such a title as vandalism. All sorted now. Apologies, Alan16 (talk) 16:37, 8 August 2009 (UTC).[reply]

The article War of the Five Kings has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Per WP:DIRECTORY Subject fails WP:GNG, I cannot find any reference that passed WP:FANSITE.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Click23 (talk) 21:44, 26 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

International broadcasters[edit]

Please don't introduce lists of every country and channel the show is planned to air on, "When detailing a show's international broadcasting, simply listing every channel the series appears on is discouraged, Wikipedia is not a television guide. Apart from the channel of origin for the series, editors are encouraged to instead detail English-speaking countries that the series appears through prose form." WP:MOSTV. Also, there's already a #Broadcast section which covers this. Additionally fan-sites are not reliable sources, if the information comes directly from HBO, then please link to the original source. Xeworlebi (talk) 17:26, 10 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Crysis 2[edit]

Hello, and thank you for removing vandalism from Crysis 2. This is much appreciated, but unfortunately your repair was not successful in restoring the article to its pre-vandalised state. For future reference, it is better to deal with vandalism by checking the article's page history to determine how it appeared before it was vandalised. You can then restore the whole article, or the relevant part of it, to an appropriate earlier version. If you simply delete the visible vandalism then any content removed or overwritten by the vandal is lost. See How to deal with vandalism for details. Thank you.
