Welcome[edit]

Welcome

Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate encyclopedic contributions, but some of your recent contributions seem to be advertising or for promotional purposes. Wikipedia does not allow advertising. For more information on this, see:

If you still have questions, there is a new contributor's help page, or you can write {{helpme}} below this message along with a question and someone will be along to answer it shortly. You may also find the following pages useful for a general introduction to Wikipedia:

I hope you enjoy editing Wikipedia! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. Feel free to write a note on the bottom of my talk page if you want to get in touch with me. Again, welcome! Dougweller (talk) 12:49, 4 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Are you using email to contact other editors about your website?[edit]

Hello. This message is being sent to inform you that there currently is a discussion at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. Thank you. - This is about your alleged use of email to contact other editors, please don't do this. Wikipedia is not a place to promote your website, either through email or talk pages. Thanks. Dougweller (talk) 12:50, 4 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

whadu.com[edit]

Howdy. You left a message (at User_talk:Topbanana) asking me to contibute to your web site (whadu.com). Currently, the site gives no statement as to the ownership of user-generated content. If you can clarify this and the licensing agreement is helpful and noncommercial (ie Creaive Commons or better GFDL) I might consider contibuting. - TB (talk) 13:47, 5 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Ways to improve Anthology Complex[edit]

Hi, I'm HenryMP02. Whadu, thanks for creating Anthology Complex!

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. Please consider expanding the page and adding some sourcing to prove its notability (see WP:NOT)

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse. Henry TALK 02:35, 8 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of Anthology Complex for deletion[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Anthology Complex is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Anthology Complex until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. CapitalSasha ~ talk 02:47, 8 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Your username[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "Whadu", may not comply with our username policy. Please note that you may not use a username that represents the name of a company, group, organization, product, or website. Examples of usernames that are not allowed include "XYZ Company", "MyWidgetsUSA.com", and "Foobar Museum of Art". However, you are invited to use a username that contains such a name if it identifies you personally, such as "Jack Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87".

Please also note that Wikipedia does not allow accounts to be shared by multiple people, and that you may not advocate for or promote any company, group, organization, product, or website, regardless of your username. Moreover, I recommend that you read our conflict of interest guideline. If you are a single individual and are willing to contribute to Wikipedia in an unbiased manner, please create a new account or request a change of username, by completing this form, that complies with our username policy. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. Via an earlier post with Topbanana in 2010 it looks like you've named yourself after a website you either own or run, as you were trying to ask them and another editor to contribute. It doesn't look like you were warned then and it's kind of surprising that you weren't considering that what you were doing was essentially you promoting your site, but I am warning you now - you really should change this username. Managing a conflict of interest[edit]

Information icon Hello, Whadu. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places, or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and it is important when editing Wikipedia articles that such connections be completely transparent. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, we ask that you please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your family, friends, school, company, club, or organization, as well as any competing companies' projects or products;
  • instead, you are encouraged to propose changes on the Talk pages of affected article(s) (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or to the website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Please take a few moments to read and review Wikipedia's policies regarding conflicts of interest, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. Thank you. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 04:49, 10 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

November 2016[edit]

There have been two problems identified with this account: the account has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia, and your username indicates that the account represents a business or other organisation or group, which is also against policy, as an account must be for just one person. Because of those problems, the account has been blocked indefinitely from editing.

If you intend to make useful contributions about some topic other than your business or organisation, you may request an unblock. To do so, post the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:CentralAuth to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy. Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:

  • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked.
  • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 04:50, 10 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • I've found evidence to suggest that you are closely related to the author of the book Anthology Complex. I won't say what it is that I found or exactly how you two are related, just that it was easily discovered when I googled your username and the book name. Wikipedia should not be used for promotion of any type and so far all you've done here is try to get other editors to visit your site and write an article about a book that you are involved with. This was enough to push a "might block you" to a "will block you" for me. You might be able to be unblocked, but there would be requirements: you would have to divulge your COI, you would have to show that you understand why you were blocked, you would have to change your username, and you would have to promise to not write on anything that you have personally created or that you are affiliated with. In other words, you need to convince us that you won't keep doing what you've been doing so far. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 04:54, 10 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
