Hi, you cannot blank a page on Wikipedia (and please always give an explanation in the edit summary). If you want it to be deleted, then nominate it for deletion. Alternatively you can redirect the article if it serves no use. I added a speedy deletion template as this seems uncontroversial. Hekerui (talk) 10:30, 4 July 2011 (UTC)

Speedy deletion converted to PROD: List of European number-one hits of 2011

Hello Widr, and thanks for patrolling new pages! I am just letting you know that I have converted the speedy deletion tag that you placed on List of European number-one hits of 2011 to a proposed deletion tag. The speedy deletion criteria are extremely narrow to protect the encyclopedia, and do not fit the page in question. You may wish to review the Criteria for Speedy Deletion before tagging further pages. Thank you. Spartaz Humbug! 21:56, 31 July 2011 (UTC)

This is the top chart and also the only acceptable chart in the Philippines, I suggest for another nomination or discussion for addition of Record Chart. Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Junixers (talkcontribs) 17:44, 31 October 2012 (UTC)

November 2011

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to Princess of China, did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and read the welcome page to learn more about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. Thank you. The source is fine. Stop edit warring with other editors, as you can be blocked if you do it again. Calvin NaNaNaC'mon! 17:08, 2 November 2011 (UTC)

Disambiguation link notification for October 14

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited I Knew You Were Trouble, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Shellback (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Sandbox

Hi there - can you please explain this? How were those edits you reverted in the sandbox vandalism? GiantSnowman 16:54, 16 October 2012 (UTC)

It doesn't matter what other edits by the IP may have been vandalism; the 2 you reverted were these - how are they vandalism? GiantSnowman 17:29, 16 October 2012 (UTC)

Your request for rollback

Hi Widr. After reviewing your request for rollback, I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war.
  • If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
  • Use common sense.

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! Yunshui  09:21, 19 October 2012 (UTC)

Sione Vailahi

Please note that my edits to Sione Vailahi were *not* vandalism. This page and two other related pages are from time to time subject to incorrect good faith edits on the point I referred to in my hidden note on the page. People need to be deterred from making this incorrect edit 195.92.109.20 (talk) 17:02, 23 October 2012 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 195.92.109.20 (talk)

Yes, accidental deletion when I tried to add a note

> I noticed that you recently removed some content > from Decorator pattern without explaining why. ... > If this was a mistake, don't worry, the removed > content has been restored.

Yes, from the diff (http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Decorator_pattern&diff=519457972&oldid=519457669) it looks like I did accidentally delete something (though I don't know how; I wasn't even editing that section).

However, note that your reversion deleted the note I added:

  # Subclass the original "Decorator" class into a
"Component" class (see UML diagram); <!--FIXME: if
that means "make Decorator a subclass of
  Component", then say something closer to that;
"subclass A into B" sounds like the opposite:
breaking A into subclasses including B-->

Note, that note itself doesn't need to be re-added, but please refine the page text to remove that ambiguity. (The wording seems to say the opposite of what seems to be meant.)

M. John Harrison page

Hi, you advised me you had noticed I removed from the page on M. John Harrison, however I was expanding the entry on the novel The Pastel City. The removed material was material I had inserted but rewritten. I would appreciate it if they expanded entry could be retsored. I would also like to expand the entries on the other novels in the Viriconium sequence if that's OK. 220.233.86.59 (talk) 08:16, 25 October 2012 (UTC)

Harald Whaley page

Hello Widr the name of the person is not Harald Whaley it is Harold Whaley, by mistake I have created the page that way so I had to remove the data in it and I created Harold Whaley article. And the deletion I did was not a mistake. It was to remove the identity of a wrong person which might lead to a serious problem. Please remove that article if you can. Your notice on my talk page

Your notice:

Hello, I'm Widr. I noticed that you recently removed some content from AC/DC (electricity) without explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an edit summary.

An explanation was left in the edit summary for my edit and your notice was incorrecty based. Please discuss any concerns for the edit on the article talk page. Thank you. 174.118.142.187 (talk) 22:38, 29 October 2012 (UTC)

Ninth Amendment to the United States Constitution

You sent me a message telling me you'd reverted my edit (which itself was a reversion of vandalism), but your reversion resulted in only part of the text of the Ninth Amendment remaining. The whole reason I reverted it in the first place was to restore the full text. You said it didn't appear constructive... I'm not sure how restoring the full text of the subject matter itself was unconstructive. 24.17.22.79 (talk) 09:20, 30 October 2012 (UTC)

In other words, I think you mischaracterized this edit as vandalism. Biosthmors (talk) 21:07, 30 October 2012 (UTC)
Sure, but perhaps more caution would be helpful on your end? Who knows, maybe you've made 1000 perfect reverts of vandalism before this case, and instead you're due for a big pat on the back. =) Happy editing. Biosthmors (talk) 21:17, 30 October 2012 (UTC)
Well, FWIW, I think seeking consensus on talk pages before removal of unnecessary text is unnecessary and contrary to a core principle here: WP:BOLD. And unfortunately we just can't expect all IPs to use edit summaries either. And, as I'm sure you're aware, "Vandalism is any addition, removal, or change of content in a deliberate attempt to compromise the integrity of Wikipedia." Maybe there's a way to revert blanking without identifying it as vandalism unless you're sure the content belongs? Maybe not. O well. Thanks for your contributions. Biosthmors (talk) 21:33, 30 October 2012 (UTC)

Hello Widr, thank you for reverting the change in this article, made by an anonym, it really was wrong one. Nevertheless I believe, it was unnecessary to label it as vandalism in the edit summary there. It was most probably done in good faith and it should have to be treated as such, I think. ...(He was definitively a wiki-noob disagreeing with the statement, that the gate-channeling doesn't need the ATP, just not knowing how to deal with it ..nd myself - I still do not know if he is not right on that actually) Do You disagree with me on that? Nevertheless have a good time and thanks a lot for all the vandal fighting You are doing :).

Frankie Valli

It's not that hard to find an example of the record label from 1953. As a matter of fact, it's on YouTube. Search YouTube for 'Frankie Valli My Mother's Eyes' and you can see the record spinning on a turntable. It's also a well known bit of trivia to 4 Seaasons fans. I appreciate the efforts you do to keep na eye on things, but to respond so quickly without doing your own research seems premature. I would like to think that, if I was in your position, I would devote a few minutes to checking before dismissing an entry. I mean no offense; I get a little concerned when facts are dismissed so quickly. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bbrownlie (talkcontribs) 06:25, 9 November 2012 (UTC)

War in Darfur

My edits were not vandalism. They were deliberate, and well thought out, though small. You even reverted something as innocuous (and useful) as hyperlinks I added for 'guerilla tactics' and 'Toyota Land Cruiser'. I'm undoing your reversion. yeah I do think you did it wrong and it was constructive I mean seriously whats the point in having the track listings twice wouldn't it be more better in just having the deluxe edition track listings separate well its entirely up to you but I felt I had mad a positive contribution tad pointless if the edit is gonna be revoked! good day to you! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 176.255.126.131 (talk) 13:01, 20 November 2012 (UTC)

Leonard Live-Forever Jones

Hey Widr, you just removed my addition to the page on immortality.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_people_claimed_to_be_immortal_in_myth_and_legend

I made the following addition, in all caps: Leonard "Live-Forever" Jones (1797–1868), an eccentric who ran for President of the United States in every election between the late 1840s and 1860s on a platform of immortality. He believed that mortality was simply a matter of poor morals, and with prayer anyone could live forever. THEN HE DIED.

I did this because I didn't want people to be curious about what happened to him, since he's not listed in the section on failed attempts.

Please reinstate my edit ASAP. Thanks.

Postscript — You wrote "Isn't it obvious that he died since the year of his death is also mentioned? I don't really see why your edit would be necessary."

Is it necessary? Perhaps not. Does it add to the value of the page? I believe it does. And since I've gone through the trouble to add it, then message you about it, and now message you a second time, as a regular Wikipedia user I would really appreciate it if you would just back off here and let the edit stand. Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.37.216.235 (talk) 14:53, 21 November 2012 (UTC)
