Sorry for reporting this IP who has not edited for several days. However, I believe that this IP should be blocked for some time. The reason is that it just did almost the same thing for what it was blocked previously. And, this IP seems to be quite persistent on this though not very active. Hi Widr. You’ve blocked 112.199.129.242 per WP:EVADE. This IP had recently been making a fair amount of requests at WP:GL/I, some of which have yet to be answered. Should the answered requests be undone or at least the unanswered ones removed?
Most of the requests were asking for non-free files to be converted to svg format, and I’m assuming that the IP intended to use the school versions to replace existing files used in various articles. This would mean the older replaced files would eventually end up being deleted per WP:F5. I’m not sure how far along the IP had gotten in doing this, but I tried to explain a couple of times to them that creating new svgs might not be allowed per WP:FREER.
The IP had also been creating various user talk sandboxes where they were storing image files that they seem to have also intended to request be converted to school, not only at GL/I but perhaps also at c:COM:GL. Most of the sandboxes appear to have been deleted by Galobtter. Would it be OK to tag any others that may still exist per WP:G5 if I come across any? —- Marchjuly (talk) 21:02, 12 May 2019 (UTC)

What's up with this IP?
Hey, Widr. This IP got caught up in a rangeblock; I have no way of knowing if they're responsible for the behavior of others in that range but they're certainly not happy. I did report 2001:4898:80E8:2:A99B:C7B2:F64D:FD19 because they seemed to be hounding other IPs suspected of being LTA perpetrators; now this other IP is blaming me for getting them blocked. Suggestion regarding a block log rationale
Hi, Widr. I see at Special:Contributions/SummerPhDv10.0 you blocked an account, with account creation blocked. That is fine, and exactly what I would have done. However, I thought it might be helpful to you to point out that in the block log you gave {{uw-ublock-double}}, but that template says "You are welcome to create a new account with a username that is easily distinguishable", which is not a very appropriate message for an editor to see if account creation is disabled. I suggest that in this situation it is better either to use a different templated block reason or else to hand-write a brief reason. Revise protection of the Juerusalem Film festival
Hello I notticed that the English version of the Jerusalem film festival is not updated as the page in Hebrew. I would like to update it, but the update include 14,222 charachters, and it will be vcery hard to ask users to replace the text.
Moreover, The film festival itslef does not regard to the Israeli-Arab conflict.
Therefore I ask you to consider the desition to protect the page and lower the protection of this page.

3 year block for an IP address?
Hi there. I notice you've just given a school block to User:168.69.254.247 who I had just been warning for four petty/damaging edits to articles. This seems inordinately extreme, especially as the school's IP contributions over the years haven't been too serious. Can I ask you what's your rationale for such a long block, please? - "Haven't been too serious" usually means that those edits are just waste of time for those who have to clean it up and those who report it. Escalating lengths are common for school blocks, even really long ones, especially when there's been nothing but vandalism for years. These type of blocks only prevent anonymous editing. Hi Widr,
I see you're pretty active on AIV, and was wondering if you could assist me? if you look at my user talk page history you'll see in the past month I have had an anonymous user from Poland who keeps vandalising my talk page saying things like "fuck you and fuck off" and it's getting rather tedious. I count at least 4 IPs and they claim to be using "different dynamic IP addresses". Could you please block them or could we perhaps protect my talk page from IP editing for a month or so? (although I'd prefer not just in case that stops legitimate IP editors from discussing things with me). - There's no benefit in blocking those individual IPs, since the user would just move on to another one. I don't think protection is called for either at this point. Might be best to simply revert the edits on sight, just like any other run-of-the-mill vandalism. Widr (talk) 16:08, 3 October 2019 (UTC)

Will this block work
Hi Widr, you've just blocked this IP user, but the IP is part of a range used by one of the largest mobile networks in South Africa. Will that not cause problems for other editors who use that network (I often use it myself)? On the other hand it is just one IP in a large range so is it actually an effective block?
