Purpose of this account is unclear[edit]
Someone has brought up this account on my user page. What is its purpose? Your user page seems to indicate that you think if your main account is blocked, you can continue to edit with this account. Are you aware that if an editor is blocked, none of his accounts is allowed to edit? Jayjg (talk) 18:31, 13 February 2011 (UTC)
- Yes Jay I am and have been fully aware of that I didn't think that the user page would seem to indicate that I thought that but I understand how someone might think that. I have not read it lately because I am taking a timeout from the contentious topic of Middle East studies particularly in view of the dramatic changes now there taking place.
- One of my purposes is aggregation of all work on Middle East into this account so it can be view under My Contributions in one shot. Another advantage is the signature and User Page customization.
- Another one is that if there are hassles such as vandalisms or will hopefully be compartmentalized to this account and not create side effects on other issues of no concern to people with extreme POV on Middle East affairs. I realize that might not work, but it might create a sort of firewall of all the damage, even if only on an emotional, psychological or ontological level. And aesthetically. - How about apologizing for implying that there was ever any intent to thwart "blocks". Do you really think I am that stupid? Yes, now, weeks later, I remain appalled at the unrelentingly negative and critical tone directed at this good faith effort to obtain some breathing room for editing on Israel/Palestine related topics. The insinuation that this is an attempt to circumvent potential blocks is not warranted. The purpose of this account was fully and adequately explained. I basically would like Jayg to stop making these suggestions challenging my good faith. There is no reason to pretend this has anything to do with blocks. If the original explanations of the accounts were read this would have been clear. Similarly, any disagreement with Jay is characterized as a "personal attack" when the matter is entirely a matter of the sourcing. I am fed up. If I have any comments to make about Robert Wistrick or Israel i will make them to the staff of my member of Congress, where they will not be subject to anonymous editors twisting their intent with no basis. If there is a desire to thwart free discussion, that has succeeded and the implication that there is potentially any cause to block anything I have posted seems to simply be an attempt to "lean" on me using administrator privileges. If you are in good faith, you can apologize for spinning anything I post regarding Israel Palestine in the worst possible light.Wikidgood (talk) 22:52, 18 April 2011 (UTC)
