User Page[edit]

Wow, I don't know that anybody actually read my user page :) What about the IPs that the talk page is still empty? Is it there too? I just checked and can't find it (I might be a little blind!) Wikislemur 14:43, 14 December 2009 (UTC)

Done. See under my comment the little box saying "This is the discussion page for an IP user..."? That appears on every IP talk page. There's a lot of little external links in the box: WHOIS, RBLs, Traceroute, et cetera. As far as I can see, the only one that's needs for mere non-admins like us would by WHOIS, but I'm not sure. I see the link to the WHOIS! Thanks to show me that. I think it will be nice if they do the same (I mean, having the link) to the IP without talk page yet, sometimes it's nice to know a little about who we are dealing with.

Yep, the second talkback ({{talkback|wikislemur}}) was correct. You can also shorten it simply to "{{Tb|wikislemur}}". Finally, you can use them for articles too. For example, say you left a question at the talk page for Dragon Age: Origins and it was urgent you saw the response, I'd put a Tb template here with the coding {{Tb|Talk: Dragon Age: Origins}}. However, for articles, it is vital you put the "Talk:" prefix into it. Otherwise, it think's there's a user called "Dragon Age: Origins". As for messing up my page, don't worry. It wasn't that big an issue and I delete talkbacks rapidly anyway. ArbCom elections are now open![edit]

Asian 10,000 Challenge invite[edit]

Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant!
