A tag has been placed on Will Hurd requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Ok, so I will delete any part of the text that seems that it would be promoting him or links to his website. However, Will Hurd himself created the biography for the website and he also would like to have the same biography for Wikipedia. Is this not possible at all? Or do I have to re write everything in my own words. I work for Will and I manage his facebook, and he basically just wanted me to publish an article about him in Wikipedia, not for publicity, for for anyone that was curious about him and happened to type his name into Wikipedia. HE HOLDS THE COPYRIGHT TO HIS WEBSITE AND THE BIOGRAPHY AND HAS GIVEN ME PERMISSION TO USE ALL THE MATERIAL WORD FOR WORD. — Preceding unsigned comment added by WilliamHurd (talkcontribs)

That's as may be, but our articles are required to be written from a Neutral point of view, which would be impossible for Mr. Hurd since he is the subject. You'll want to have a look at our conflict of interest policies for more information. Even if his website were licenses for free distribution, which would be required if we were to use the text, I'm not sure that it would really be suitable for a neutral article without major rewriting. You can give that a shot by working in your userspace, perhaps at User:WilliamHurd/Draft. But review our policies first, as it's possible that Mr. Hurd does not (yet!) meet our requirements for notability. Best, UltraExactZZ Claims ~ Evidence 12:51, 24 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ok I will have the biography rewritten from a strictly neutral point of view and have it uploaded soon to see if it meets the criteria. I will keep you updated. Thank you.

I have spent some time re-editing the biography completely with citations and the requirements of Wikipedia. Can you please check the biography of Will hurd and let me know if it meets the criteria? I do not know how to post a picture, so I have not yet included that.

Hello William. Thanks for your efforts, but I still think your autobiography doesn't meet our notability criteria for people. Check the criteria, please, and look also at Wikipedia:Autobiography. --Vejvančický (talk) 16:38, 2 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you.

A tag has been placed on Will Hurd requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article, which appears to be about a real person, individual animal(s), an organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Vejvančický (talk) 16:38, 2 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Will Hurd[edit]

An article that you have been involved in editing, Will Hurd, has been listed for deletion. If you are interested in the deletion discussion, please participate by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Will Hurd. Thank you.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Vejvančický (talk) 17:10, 2 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I think a broader discussion would be more helpful. --Vejvančický (talk) 17:10, 2 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Of course, the main reason of my AfD nomination is to obtain more opinions. Personally I think your article fails this criterion: The person has made a widely recognized contribution that is part of the enduring historical record in his or her specific field. Nothing personal; I'm just trying to help to maintain the level of this encyclopedia. --Vejvančický (talk) 17:26, 2 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

AfD nomination of Will Hurd[edit]

An editor has nominated one or more articles which you have created or worked on, for deletion. The nominated article is Will Hurd. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also Wikipedia:Notability and "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion(s) by adding your comments to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Will Hurd (2nd nomination). Please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate.

Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. --Erwin85Bot (talk) 01:11, 3 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
