Proposed deletion of Main Street Manager[edit]

The article Main Street Manager has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable job position. Appears to exist only in one small Kentucky town. Only a single unlinked reference, unable to verify. No other mentions found.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. - Realkyhick (Talk to me) 15:05, 6 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The entry was added in September 2009 and it has stood the test of time with many contributions. wiki1203 16:25, 26 January 2018 (UTC)

Campbellsville pictures[edit]

Hello, Willp1203! Thanks for helping with the National Register properties in Campbellsville. I'd like to ask — did you yourself take this photo and this photo? Nyttend (talk) 01:34, 7 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Willp1203, I don't know if you were able to participate in the discussion of whether those photos should be deleted or not. The deletion discussion happened quickly and the two photos were deleted. I understand what happened, and that it was identified that those images appear on a copyright-protected webpage somewhere, so from Wikipedia's perspective it appears the photos are copyrighted and have not been released in the public domain or released under any "free" license that is wikipedia-acceptable. I myself had looked at the description of one of the photos and seen that it was stated to be the "own work" of the uploader. I don't know if that was you or not. But I am a bit concerned that maybe this has not worked out fairly. If they are in fact your own photos, and it was you that provided them to that other website, it could be the case that you could release them to wikipedia also. There is just a bit more process which has to be followed, to be handled by confidential email correspondence with appropriate wikipedia specialists, in order to release them. And wikipedia would then welcome them.
Either way, your contributions to wikipedia are appreciated, and I hope that you are not unduly turned off by this early experience. I and many others also had difficult experiences with deletion processes and copyright complexities when we started and wrote or uploaded something without being aware of all the rules. It is especially aggravating to me that the deletion discussion, if a deletion is decided upon, immediately gets hidden from all but wikipedia administrators. So you can't access it in order to understand the decision, to learn from it or perhaps allowing you to follow some appeal process. (If you do want to see the discussion, i think it can be provided to you though.) Please feel free to contact me at my talk page or by email if i could possibly be of any help. doncram (talk) 21:18, 10 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, as shown in photo credits, I am the photographer and I release them to the public domain. wiki1203 16:26, 26 January 2018 (UTC)

Apology for warning[edit]

Sorry for giving you the unwarranted warning about removing a prod tag. I didn't look closely enough before acting. ArcAngel (talk) 08:53, 7 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Campbellsville, Kentucky notable people section[edit]

Per here[1] reads 'Provide information, preferably in prose form, of any famous or notable individuals that were born, or lived for a significant amount of time, in the city.' That means lived or born, not gone to school, worked (Like an athlete who played sports for a city's sports team, or died....William, is the complaint department really on the roof? 23:28, 8 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]
