July 2023[edit]

Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in Ryan Reynolds, disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Thedarkknightli (talk) 04:22, 7 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Names of companies[edit]

[1] Please, don't make these kind of editions. Since it's the first time the name of the promotion is mentioned, you have to explain that AEW means All Elite Wrestling and WCW, World Championship Wrestling. --HHH Pedrigree (talk) 10:54, 29 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

[2] Since it's the first time the name of the promotion is mentioned, you have to write the full name, All Elite Wrestling and Ring of Honor. --HHH Pedrigree (talk) 20:23, 6 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2023 Elections voter message[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2023 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:38, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

A note about references[edit]

Hi, I'm CodeTalker. I noticed in this edit to George Carlin you added a link to the Wikipedia article George Carlin's American Dream as a reference. It is almost never acceptable to use Wikipedia as a reference; see WP:CIRCULAR. If you are using the "American Dream" documentary as a source, you should cite the documentary itself, not a Wikipedia article about it.

Also, I noticed that in that article and in others such as K.Flay, you have used bare URLs as a reference. While not forbidden, this is a poor practice; see WP:BAREURL for reasons why. It is preferable to use a properly formatted reference rather than a bare URL; see WP:CITE for details on how to do that.

Finally, please take care to ensure that you are using reliable sources. In the K.Flay article, you used ethnicelebs.com as a reference. The "Terms" page on that site says "Although we may vet information to ensure its accuracy, we make no assurances that all information on our Site is accurate." It also seems that this site publishes content submitted by users, which would make this user-generated content. Both of these issues indicate to me that this site does not meet Wikipedia standards for a reliable source; see WP:RS for more details.

Thank you. CodeTalker (talk) 21:08, 19 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Winditaround . CodeTalker is correct, ethnicelebs.com is unreliable and should not be used. I've gone ahead and removed it. You may want to check WP:RSP and WP:RSN to help determine if a source is reliable. --Hipal (talk) 21:53, 24 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for April 28[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Jonas Åkerlund, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Blondie. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, --DPL bot (talk) 17:58, 28 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]
