Pre-Code Hollywood

You can put it back in if you want. I was just saving that line for the caption under the Frankenstein pic. That was the whole basis of my spiel there and I thought it would be repetitive to mention it twice so close together, so I just mentioned the it's alive part. AaronY (talk) 03:28, 27 November 2010 (UTC)

Ok. How about I wikilink the God line to the censorship of Frankenstein section of that article so that the curious can learn the whole story.--Wlmg (talk) 16:58, 27 November 2010 (UTC)

Cool, coincidentally I just got that Vieira book that's used as a source for that Frankenstein article in the mail today. The section had some problems, so I've added some tags to remind myself what needs sources. Mainly some of the stuff that was sourced to Vieira wasn't in there, it was probably added later by other people. I'll fix/rewrite it by this weekend. AaronY (talk) 11:27, 28 November 2010 (UTC)
I noticed that the link to censorship section of the Frankenstein article needs cites for all the critical info too. I do remember it was a national news story on ABC in when the god line was finally restored. Also watching Frankenstein as a child in the early 70's I saw versions where he throws the child in the river. With all the local censorship and the 1937 code-compliant release, who knows how many versions are out there. I'll try to find out some sources for the 1999 "director's cut". --Wlmg (talk) 20:24, 28 November 2010 (UTC)
I have a WP:RS that the god line was restored by 1987 here on videotape at least. Perhaps the 1999 restoration of the god line was for broadcast TV idk.
There's also this for the 1986 restoration, but it's a pay for play source.

That's Entertainment Van Halen's 5150 is No. 1 Pay-Per-View - Providence Journal - ProQuest Archiver - Apr 28, 1986 Another significant restoration comes in the famous laboratory scene where Frankenstein (Colin Clive) exults, "Now I know what it feels like to be God. ... --Wlmg (talk) 20:53, 28 November 2010 (UTC)

Archive test

Do your worse cluebot.--Wlmg (talk) 21:03, 27 November 2010 (UTC)

Help

I am trying to setup an archive for my talk page. I tried using cluebot, but it doesn't seem to do anything. Although I always wanted to be a php programmer when I grow up I am looking for a simple way to archive. Also btw when I checked MiszaBot I saw this template warning: "The exact code below won't work - please see the examples for possible options - I'm tired of fixing dozens of malformed templates."

There has to be a better way to do this; I'd appreciate someone giving me some pointers. TIA. --Wlmg (talk) 21:14, 27 November 2010 (UTC)

I personally do it manually and it works great for me, but I'll leave the helpme template here in case some other, more knowledgeable/ambitious people want to try to help with a non-manual approach. Good luck! GorillaWarfare talk 21:32, 27 November 2010 (UTC)

{{User:ClueBot III/ArchiveThis |archiveprefix=User talk:Wlmg/Archives/ |format=Y/F |age=168 |index=yes |archivebox=yes }} This should work fine. Age is defined in hours. Albacore (talk) 22:00, 27 November 2010 (UTC)

Thanks guys I've made the suggested changes let's see if it starts archiving.--Wlmg (talk) 22:58, 27 November 2010 (UTC)

NYC Meetup: Saturday, December 4

We meet outside by the trees at 5:00 PM.

Our next Wikipedia NYC Meetup is this weekend on Saturday Dec 4 at Brooklyn Museum during their awesome First Saturdays program, starting at 5 PM.

A particular highlight for the wiki crowd will be 'Seductive Subversion: Women Pop Artists, 1958–1968', and the accompanying "WikiPop" project, with specially-created Wikipedia articles on the artists displayed on iPads in the gallery.

This will be a museum touring and partying meetup, so no excuses about being a shy newbie this time. Bring a friend too!

You can add or remove your name from the New York City Meetups invite list at Wikipedia:Meetup/NYC/Invite list.

To keep up-to-date on local events, you can also join our mailing list.

You could also have left it there, wasn't a problem. Just thought it was funny. Best regards Hekerui (talk) 17:06, 4 December 2010 (UTC)

Re: Laserblast and MST

Hey Wlmg. I'm in the middle of a major expansion of Laserblast, so for now I'm basically adding as much information as I can find and then plan to read through it and revise afterward. It's possible that I will indeed cut back on a lot of the MST3K section at that point. However, since MST3K is sort of rare in that it's a show that can't possibly have individual television episode articles, I tend to think that the MST3K sections for the films sort of serve that purpose, so personally I think a little leeway should be given when it comes to including information there. Thanks for your thoughts though, I'll keep that in mind when it comes time to revise. Must have been interesting to see Laserblast in theaters! I've never seen the non-MST3K version of it... — Hunter Kahn 19:34, 5 December 2010 (UTC)

I was under the influence at the time, and it was uhhh.... quite an experience. Though it would be impossible to find a WP:RS I'll try, because Laserblast was a favorite of druggies in an era where it was acceptable to smoke pot in theaters.Wlmg (talk) 19:43, 5 December 2010 (UTC)

Hey, Wlmg. You always provide very sound reasoning. I was wondering if you wouldn't mind weighing in on the two most recent discussions on the Sexual intercourse talk page -- the ones pertaining to the name change...and "inter" in "intercourse." I'm not sure what to make of the request for a name change or of the removal of the tidbit pointing out that "inter" refers to "between." Flyer22 (talk) 00:45, 8 December 2010 (UTC)

I'll take a look--Wlmg (talk) 02:37, 8 December 2010 (UTC)

Red links are good

See Wikipedia:Red link If the song is one she is well known for, as the article suggests, then that red link belongs there, in order to encourage someone to create the article. If it is not actually a well known song by her or one she is known for, then that sentence needs to be removed entirely. TrevorLSciAct (talk) 22:03, 9 December 2010 (UTC)
