Welcome to Wikipedia![edit]

Hello, XPrintGirl. Welcome to Wikipedia! Thanks for your contributions. My name is Howicus, and I've been an editor here for some time. Here are a few links to pages you might find helpful:

If you're working on creating a new article, you should take a look at this page on your first article, and use the article wizard here to get started. Also, this page has instructions on how to cite sources, complete with videos.

If all this Wikicode is a little overwhelming, this cheatsheet may help untangle it.

If you're looking for a tutorial of sorts, The Wikipedia Adventure is a good option.

And if you need more help, I'd recommend getting live help at the Wikipedia help chat channel: click here to join. Additionally, you could ask me on my talk page, try the Teahouse (a help page for new users) or click here to ask for help here on your talk page and a volunteer will visit you here shortly

Please remember to sign your messages on talk pages by typing four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. Again, welcome, and have fun editing! Howicus (Did I mess up?) 18:46, 15 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

A barnstar for you![edit]

The Barnstar of Diligence
For taking poor and poorly sourced material out of Benedict Cumberbatch. Keep up the good work. John (talk) 23:48, 26 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop[edit]

Please stop removing reliably-sourced information from the articles Benedict Cumberbatch and Olivia Poulet. The fact Cumberbatch and Poulet had a long-term relationship in the past has been covered in reliable sources -- specifically, Radio Times and The Independent, which are not "tabloids." That Cumberbatch dated Anna Jones is verified by another article from the The Independent. Her name is given as "Anna Jones" in this article. If this source is misreporting her name as "Anna Jones" when it is in fact "Anna James," feel free to bring forward a source confirming her name is in fact Anna James. But the Independent reported ner name as Anna Jones, so until then your claim that her name was incorrectly reported is unverified. Thank you. -OneLittleDragon (talk) 02:23, 27 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop edit warring on the Benedict Cumberbatch article. The information on Cumberbatch having a long-term relationship with Olivia Poulet is backed up by two reliable articles from Radio Times and The Independent. The information about Cumberbatch dating Anna Jones is backed up by another article from the Independent. If you have concerns regarding this information, please raise them on the talk page. Cite reliable sources and appropriate changes can be made to how the subject is covered. Thank you. -OneLittleDragon (talk) 05:01, 27 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Why have you removed the information on Olivia Poulet's relationship with Cumberbatch from her article? It was reliably sourced, and I have told you need to stop engaging in counterproductive edit warring and take whatever concerns you might have to the talk page. -OneLittleDragon (talk) 07:25, 27 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Doctor Strange (film)[edit]

Hi. Happy New Year. Can you offer your opinion in this discussion on the film's talk page? Thanks. Nightscream (talk) 01:09, 13 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

February 2017[edit]

Hello, I'm Non-dropframe. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Charlie Trairat, but you didn't provide a source. I’ve removed it for now, but if you’d like to include a citation to a reliable source and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Non-Dropframe talk 04:33, 5 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of VPROVE[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on VPROVE, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Request reason:

I don't really have a reason to be unblocked other than I'm not Bertrand101. It's the first time I even heard of it. I hope you guys double check because I really enjoy my time here and to be blocked for something I didn't do is just nuts.

Decline reason:

In order to be considered for an unblock you need to directly address the evidence at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Bertrand101/Archive. Just Chilling (talk) 00:49, 2 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:

I started in October 2015 editing Benedict Cumberbatch's page. Then I had a hiatus, after that, I just got back and doing some random edits here and there. As you can see I am not interested at all in Radio related pages like the master sock puppet's apparent targets. Nor do I edited pages as such. I also don't edit radio announcers from the 80's and 90's as I'm a millennial. I do however edit some Korea-related pages, that's very occasional and also very recently as I have been watching some shows from Korea. Oh, I also do my Wikipedia browsing in an internet cafe. Maybe it messes up with the IP or something. I really don't know why I've been blocked but I'm not Bertrand. I just wish you guys should check again as I do love to have editing privileges here.XPG 03:52, 2 March 2017 (UTC)

Decline reason:

Per DeltaQuad's comment below. The WordsmithTalk to me 01:08, 20 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Looking at the editing history, it seems plausible. @DeltaQuad: Based on technical evidence, is there a possibility that this editor accidentally got caught up in the block? The WordsmithTalk to me 19:43, 8 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@The Wordsmith: considering there are false statements right in their unblock request ("I also don't edit radio announcers from the 80's and 90's") when they do exactly that with a static IP address which only they have edited from since January, and no other users, that should be enough to decline this alone. That said, I took a detailed look into the technical evidence and a lot of IP logged out editing patterns and I remain convinced that this is the target of the sockpuppet investigation with the users that I confirmed. That and add the generic South Korea edits when they don't geolocate to south korea makes this all the more unique of a person to track. -- Amanda (aka DQ) 22:53, 19 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
The blocked users Hazel Nexis and Balbacua have the same editing styles as XPrintGirl. Obviously, they are all connected to User:AkoAyMayLobo. -112.198.118.227 (talk) 05:31, 7 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable non-free use File:Leslie Cheung (1956).jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Leslie Cheung (1956).jpg. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of non-free use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of non-free use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{Di-replaceable non-free use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable non-free use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification, per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Wcam (talk) 17:28, 18 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
