File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Taira.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status and its source. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously.

If you did not create this work entirely yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. You will also need to state under what licensing terms it was released. Please refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file.

Please add this information by editing the image description page. If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Eeekster (talk) 01:29, 21 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

August 2011[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. While everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, a number of your recent file uploads, such as File:Taira.jpg, had missing or false information regarding their source and copyright status. Please note that Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. Images and other media must only be uploaded if their copyright status meets the conditions stated in our image use policy, and if their provenance is clearly documented. If you have questions, feel free to ask at the copyright question page or on my talk page. Thank you. Eeekster (talk) 01:37, 21 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Managing a conflict of interest[edit]

Information icon Hello, Xasperated. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places, or things you have written about in the article Masaji Taira, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and it is important when editing Wikipedia articles that such connections be completely transparent. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, we ask that you please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your family, friends, school, company, club, or organization, as well as any competing companies' projects or products;
  • instead, you are encouraged to propose changes on the Talk pages of affected article(s) (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or to the website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Please take a few moments to read and review Wikipedia's policies regarding conflicts of interest, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. I noticed that the only edits you have done for the decade you have been on Wikipedia have been in relation to this subject. Please declare your relationship with the subject and note that Wikipedia's Terms of Use now require that editors who are paid or otherwise compensated for their edits disclose who is paying them and on whose behalf they are editing. WP:PAID has the details. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Jbh Talk 15:12, 28 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I am a student of Taira sensei, yes. I created the wikipedia page as a student, not as a paid activity. I do other things for money. I have edited a few other things in a minor way, but yes, about the only thing I've really done has been related to Taira sensei or Goju Ryu Karate. I have attempted to use other material - blogs, facebook postings, news, as the content, rather than write it myself, specifically to avoid COI. Taira sensei really doesn't speak much Engllsh, or follow the internet, so he did not ask for the article to be created.--Xasperated (talk) 20:44, 28 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
