Thanks for your message on my talk page. It looks like you have discovered the right answer, which is to replace the contents of the old article with a redirect to the location that was merged to. When articles are merged, Wikipedia policy is to redirect to the surviving article, rather than delete it. This is for two reasons: first, the terms of the GFDL require preserving the edit history of the original article, and second, people may be looking for the information under the original name.

My apologies for the tone of my edit summary -- didn't mean to be flippant, it's just that the criteria for speedy deletion are very narrow and specific and I just hadn't seen something like that before. You would see that these Jewish wikipedians that all voted for deletion of Ehud Olmert and Iran page, can not tolerate the inclusion of the material of the article in any of the above mentioned articles !! Its part of the companies history as noted before by another Wiki User. Is there anything saying you cannot include the companies slogans? • If the reposted article was previously speedied, G4 is inapplicable. To speedy it again, an A-criterion needs to apply again.
• If previously deleted on expired prod, reposting is a post-factum contested prod, and must go through AfD.
• If previously deleted after AfD, only then does G4 apply.

GSFE/Global Sports Financial Exchange

Dear Xrblsnggt,

Thank you for taking the time to review our entery. We have no desire to abuse Wikipedia. There have been posts stating we are either attempting to advertise on Wikipedia, are a scam, or a gambling site.

But this all very untrue. There have been two live TV News pieces done on our exchange one from Denver and one from NY,NY I will gladly provide you with a link to these. There are also several radio and newspaper stories covering our exchange. Here are two links to newspaper articles:

• Spam is kind of a misnomer if you consider its alternate usage in other online media, but in many online forums and in wiki-land it is taken to mean advertising. See WP:SPAM. This can be very subtle for sometimes complicated reasons. Wikipedia is greatly trusted and respected by search engines since it is a major part of what the Internet was envisioned to be: a reliable repository of information. The downside of this trust is the fact that corporations and organizations, as a side effect of publishing their links on wikipedia get search engine notariety as a side effect. Whether this advertising is intentional or incidental, it is still advertising. If there is any question about whether an organization is notable enough to be included on wikipedia, there are several commonly-agreed-upon guidelines: WP:CORP, WP:ORG and WP:WEB. This may seem elitist or jerky, but imagine a wikipedia where anything goes. Hi, I believe you voted to delete Aplus.Net. One week after deletion they recreated it as Aplus.net. They recently renamed it back to Aplus.Net and started linking it around inappropriately. I spotted it and speedied it, but they've contended it, and it's undergoing a second deletion review. Please could you take a look at the article and vote (one way or another)?
