Your Simpsons request[edit]

I saw your request for a list of Alma Mater, and I'm not sure its noteworthy enough to have its own article. Perhaps somebody could make a new page called "Education on The Simpsons". In regards to characters going to real life schools, I know Burns went to Yale and Hibbert and a few others went to schools, but several (including Homer) went to the fictional Springfield U (or Springfield A&M) -- Scorpion0422 04:30, 3 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

If you are going to do such an article, use Politics in The Simpsons and Religion in The Simpsons as models.
And there is also Springfield Elementary School to take stuff from. -- Scorpion0422 04:33, 3 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

OMG wtf[edit]

I cannot believe Redbud Woods controversy has an article. Would I be in the right to send this to an AfD? Cornell Rockey 08:50, 10 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Songs[edit]

Hi, thanks for adding that {{Cornell}} box to the List of Cornell Songs article. I wanted to add it but I had no idea how to edit the box to get the article on there - how did you do that? I've wanted to edit other such boxes on different topics but I've never been able to figure it out. --Dmz5*Edits**Talk* 19:38, 15 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks!-Dmz5*Edits**Talk* 04:48, 16 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Cornelliana[edit]

Thanks for the heads up. I added what I think its a well-argued vote to keep. Please do tell me if I should add more, or change my logic, or if I made some sort of dimwitted spelling mistake. Cornell Rockey 15:32, 19 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sortable table in Ivy League business schools[edit]

I never knew how to do that (or even that it could be done at all). Neat! DMacks 05:39, 24 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Ann coulter time magazine.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Ann coulter time magazine.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. This is an automated message from BJBot 19:40, 15 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Xtreambar. An automated process has found and removed an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, and thus is being used under fair use that was in your userspace. The image (Image:Dragon Day Unknown 1.jpg) was found at the following location: User:Xtreambar/Temporary/DragonDay. This image or media was attempted to be removed per criterion number 9 of our non-free content policy. The image or media was replaced with Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg , so your formatting of your userpage should be fine. Please find a free image or media to replace it with, and or remove the image from your userspace. User:Gnome (Bot)-talk 01:15, 16 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Image:Sibley Cornell Snow.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Sibley Cornell Snow.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. —Bkell (talk) 18:27, 28 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Central Campus[edit]

What is your intended scope for this new page? Have you considered having a separate "Upper Campus" page for the Ag Quad and Vet School?Racepacket 03:01, 9 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I put something together and would welcome your help. Now that we have a Central Campus article, should we scale back the building coverage in the individual college articles? Racepacket 08:09, 10 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I would be interested in reading a copy of your research paper on the founding of Risley. I happen to have quite a bit of expertise on that subject.Racepacket 03:17, 11 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Court-Kay-Bauer Community[edit]

A {{prod}} template has been added to the article Court-Kay-Bauer Community, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice explains why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. If you endorse deletion of the article, and you are the only person who has made substantial edits to the page, please tag it with {{db-author}}. Bfigura (talk) 03:43, 12 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

FAC nomination[edit]

Hi -- I saw that you commented (but never supported or opposed) at Wikipedia:Featured article candidates/The Green (Dartmouth College). The nomination page has been sitting unedited for eight days, and at 3 supports to 1 weak oppose, it needs more people to weigh in for support or rejection. Could I trouble you to come back and review it? Thanks! Dylan 20:54, 7 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:West Campus Gothic Plan.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:West Campus Gothic Plan.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 07:22, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Cornell Wikipedia Meetup?[edit]

I will be attending Reunion on June 6-8, and I thought we could organize a Wikipedia gathering. Perhaps immediately following the Quill and Dagger and Sphinx Head breakfasts on Sunday morning. Are you interested? Racepacket (talk) 23:03, 5 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Ernest May (athlete), and it appears to be very similar to another wikipedia page: Ernest May. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. Bully Pulpit[edit]

Hi, I noticed that you have some concerns with the notability aspect of the Bully Pulpit article. I was wondering how is it different from the Cornell Progressive wikipedia page? Thanks for your help! —Preceding unsigned comment added by Pulpits (talkcontribs) 19:49, 17 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have resolved the matter by adding more third party references. I think I have reach sufficient amount of notability. I'm going to remove the tag. If you disagree, my talk page is open. Thank you. --Pulpits (talk) 17:26, 21 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
