Speedy deletion nomination of Viral species identification[edit]

Hello Yirch,

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Hughesdarren, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I have tagged an article that you started, Viral species identification, for deletion, because there's already a page about that topic at Virus. Please don't be discouraged; we appreciate your effort in creating new articles. To avoid this in the future, consider using the search function to find pages that already cover what you want to write about.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top. If the page is already deleted by the time you come across this message and you wish to retrieve the deleted material, please contact the deleting administrator.

For any further query, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Hughesdarren}}. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

Microbacterium virus MuffinTheCat moved to draftspace, the article needs to be developed and it needs citations in reliable sources to support the claims[edit]

An article you recently created, Microbacterium virus MuffinTheCat, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Netherzone (talk) 01:37, 6 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Yep I know, just had to quickly save my progress on the draft, didn't have time to put my cites on. Thanks however! Yirch (talk) 02:50, 6 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
You are welcome! I did not want it to get speedy-deleted. At first I thought it was a joke, but after doing some research I saw that it was a real thing, therefore I draftified. Good luck with the article and pats to Muffin (sounds like there is a good back story here...) Netherzone (talk) 02:54, 6 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Hahaha, indeed a very interesting project. Think I went a little to deep for an extremely low importance species, but I had to do it for Muffin! Yirch (talk) 11:22, 6 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I think the article looks really good! I happen to like coming across articles on obscure topics that are well crafted - as long as there is notability. I hope you don't mind that I fixed three (orange) links that pointed to disambiguate pages, the fourth one I wasn't sure about: genetic conservation -- should that point to: conserved sequences or conservation genetics? Netherzone (talk) 15:52, 6 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Yep sorry, It was a quick link job, conserved sequences is the correct link, cheers! Yirch (talk) 20:17, 6 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks so much for all your help! Muffin would be proud. Yirch (talk) 20:53, 7 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

A kitten for you![edit]

This cat thinks all cats are very proud of Muffin's contribution to biology!

Please refrain from adding short descriptions to redirects[edit]

I noticed that you have added short descriptions to several redirects. Please refrain from doing this, as it causes them to break and no longer function as a redirect. Padgriffin Griffin's Nest 03:55, 26 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

How can these articles be distinguished easily, from articles that are safe to edit? Yirch (talk) 04:35, 26 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I was using the mobile app to edit, it must have edited the incorrect page when i used the respective pages' shortcuts, I have reverted any remaining mistakes, will be more careful, cheers Padgriffin! Yirch (talk) 05:05, 26 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]
