Your recent edits[edit]

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You could also click on the signature button or located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when they said it. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 18:56, 7 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames that give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, I have blocked this account; please take a moment to create a new account with a username that represents only you. You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of what username you choose. If your username doesn't represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice. Thank you.

Request reason:

I represent YouPorn online and via all social media channels, I do so under the name YouPorn Jude so people are aware of who I am and can instantly make the association between who I am and the site I represent. This account was in no way created for promotional use or to circumvent any rules, I simply do not use my full name online when representing YouPorn as there is nothing to prove my association with YouPorn under my full name. If verification is required, I provide the below for your consideration:

[lots of contact info removed by foxj]

If, considering the above facts, my username is still against Wikipedia rules, please let me know and also let me know what I need to do to remedy the issue. Thanks for your time and help.

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

This account should represent you, independent of your employer. You should still edit under the same account even if you change employers later, and therefore it's usually a bad idea to use your employer's name in your account name. We do, however, encourage you to disclose your employer relationships on your userpage for transparency. --Chris (talk) 16:56, 9 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Thanks for the explanation Chris, appreciate that much more than being told to re-read the rules I already read. With that being said, is it possible to simply change my username to Jude Mahoney instead of having to create an entirely new account? I've already submitted multiple revision requests that are attached to this account and do not want to lose them or the association with them. Also, I'm concerned that if this account is blocked, I will be unable to create a new account under a new username while still using all the same contact information. Chris, please advise how best to proceed. YouPornJude (talk) 19:21, 9 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

This is a purely procedural decline; I have posted instructions below on how to request a change of username. — Daniel Case (talk) 19:39, 9 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

You can use {{unblock-un}} to do so. Your real name will not be a problem. But I think you should also be mindful of the below:

Here are a few key questions:

You are currently blocked because your username appears directly related to a company, group or product that you have been promoting, contrary to the username policy. Changing the username will not allow you to violate the 3 important principles above. Daniel Case (talk) 19:39, 9 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]
