Welcome to WikiProject Western Australia![edit]

Hi Yungur, can I invite you to join Wikipedia:WikiProject Western Australia! As you might know, the WP:WA is a new project whose aims are still being developed.

  • Every one has something to contribute and cooperation between members and other projects can produce good and featured articles.
  • The opportunity for expanding and linking of articles will also be facilitated, contributing to the success of this encyclopedia.

The scope of the project includes articles either extending beyond Wikipedia:WikiProject Perth or have a West Australian element, or absence, in Wikipedia:WikiProject Australia.

Welcome again[edit]

Sorry to pounce on you. Happened to be 'on call' at the project. You would seem to be a valuable addition. There are many helpful and wise editors at WP:WA, click around and see what is being worked on or suggest something. I can redirect to other help, also. Go and introduce yourself to some of them. Hello![edit]

You're following me around! Have fun! --PeterMarkSmith 06:57, 17 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

In reply to...[edit]

Yungur, there are many shortcuts. The quickest one to what you gave me as an example is {{subst:welcome}} , and it generates exactly what you typed. This actually is a template for greeting people. Root2 07:28, 17 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Nice work spotting and tagging an apparent speedy candidate. In the name of good etiquette, can I suggest you notify the originators of such articles of your tag on their talk page? Some/most will have placed the article there in good faith (not because they want advertising or are vandals) and would be upset if the article vanished without at least a chance to defend it. Also, if they're not watching the article and come back, by notifying them on their talk page, it prevents them being puzzled by "their" article's absence, since the speedy removes not just the article but also your tag with the reasons why it was deleted. Cheers, --Dweller 10:54, 17 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You tagged this with a {{wikify}}. Do you have any particular complaints or suggestions for improvments other than section headings for this article? I would welcome concrete suggestions. Thank you, Kusma (討論) 10:55, 17 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Good enough[edit]

Hope you are enjoying editing wikipedia. Glad to see you active on the WP:WA project. Featured articles have to conform to a very high standard. Good articles are quite an achievement. There are not that many of these in the 1,586,745 articles on wikipedia. A visit to Wikipedia:Featured content will show you what to aim for. Fred 11:16, 17 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Aquinas College, Perth[edit]

You seem concerned with the article, but where have you been for the last few months! - i havent got much help apart from admin help. Why all of the sudden are you so interested? Anywho, welcome aboard the AC train - you wouldnt happen to be AC Boy? Smbarnzy 15:10, 18 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Oh ok, i remember you, thats all good. Thanks Smbarnzy 13:01, 24 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

An editor has nominated List of alumni of Aquinas College, Perth, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not"). Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of alumni of Aquinas College, Perth and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~). You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. Please note: This is an automatic notification by a bot. I have nothing to do with this article or the deletion nomination, and can't do anything about it. Edmund Rice camps, and Aquinas College[edit]

Hey there, ta for the message. I'm interested in everything to do with the camps, since I'm an Edmund Rice Camper from Victoria. And yeah, I've been neck deep in ERC research for nearly 15 months, so the book is very close to being finished now. It's largely about ERC Victoria (which celebrated its 25th anniversary last year), but I've also covered the camps throughout Australia (including a few pages on Western Australia) and the world.

Actually, I messaged smbarnzy on the topic of ERC and Aquinas just a few days ago. Of course, I'm a little biased in that I love seeing the words Edmund Rice Camps appearing anywhere in Wikipedia, but if it's justified (such as in a CB school article), then even more so! So yeah, if yourself and smbarnzy aren't actually 'in-the-know' then that's fine, but if you did find out anything else specific the Social Justice programme at Aquinas in general, that'd be great. Just thought it'd make the article stand out a bit in an area where most schools can only refer to very vague and/or localised forms of community service. New Challenge for Oceania and Australia[edit]

Hi, Wikipedia:WikiProject Oceania/The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Australia/The 5000 Challenge are up and running based on Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge which has currently produced over 2300 article improvements and creations. The Australia challenge would feed into the wider region one and potentially New Zealand could have a smaller challenge too. The main goal is content improvement, tackling stale old stubs and important content and improving sourcing/making more consistent but new articles are also welcome if sourced. I understand that this is a big goal for regular editors, especially being summertime where you are, but if you'd like to see large scale quality improvements happening for Oceania and Australia like The Africa Destubathon, which has produced over 1700 articles in 5 weeks, sign up on the page. The idea will be an ongoing national editathon/challenge for the region but fuelled by a series of contests to really get articles on every province and subject mass improved. The Africa contest scaled worldwide would naturally provide great benefits to Oceania countries, particularly Australia and attract new editors. I would like some support from existing editors here to get the Challenges off to a start with some articles to make doing a Destubathon worthwhile and potentially bring about hundreds of improvements in a few weeks through a contest! Cheers.♦ --MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 02:12, 24 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]
