Anglicanism[edit]

Please don't make re-categorization changes in anticipation of things you expect will happen. Wikipedia tracks reality, but does not anticipate it. Tb (talk) 16:03, 23 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This is your final warning regarding this. You cannot anticipate things that haven't happened. Your addition of "Fomer Anglican denominations" to articles which are not former (not spelling) denominations is disruptive and continuation of similar edits will be seen as vandalism. You are welcome to make neutral and productive edits, but please do not advance personal theories or your own agenda through editing categories. Thanks for your consideration, and if you have any questions about how wikipedia works, feel free to ask.-Andrew c [talk] 15:27, 24 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Major categorization changes[edit]

Making major changes in categorization would better be done with more discussion. A good strategy is to discuss proposed changes on the talk pages of the relevant categories, outlining the entire scheme you think should be made, and then waiting a while, maybe a week, so that the idea can be discussed. Unlike changes to individual articles, changes to categories impact many more pages. And then, when making the changes, it is important to document them by using the "edit summary" box so that others can understand your reasoning; at least, by giving a pointer to the plan and its discussion so that other editors can understand.

For example, it is not clear at all why you wanted to remove many pages from "Christian group structuring" which were clearly about that topic. And likewise, the category "State church (Christian)" is not the same as "National church". (For example, the Anglican Church of Canada is a national church, but not a state church. "National church" refers to the rough boundaries of the given jurisdiction; "state church" refers to the provision of official government support or special recognition.) I reverted many of these edits because it was not clear at all why these categories were being removed. Discussion and edit summaries would have made your aims here much easier to understand.
