First Page![edit]

Hi Zazzer - I just wanted to tell you that I created my first page. It's Love is a Rose. If you could take a look at it, I'd be very thankful. It's still a work in progress, and I hope to add more, but if you see anything glaringly wrong with it, could you please tell me? Thank you!
Oh! And I got an award for editing! *cheers*
Have a wonderful day!

Thank you for looking and helping with the page. I was just wondering, is there any way for a page on a single to be more than a stub? Oh, and did you see? I got my first award for my editing. A thumbs-up award. ^_^ I'm not sure what else I need to add to the Love is a Rose page, but I'm going to try to find some stuff.
Have a wonderful day!

Editor review[edit]

I have posted some questions for you on your editor review. Thanks! Vassyana 11:46, 9 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There are still some big problems here.

Still much is just a straight copy from here

For example that contains the sentences:

The primary mission of this rifle is to engage and defeat materiel targets at extended ranges to include parked aircraft; command, control, communications, computers, and intelligence (C4I) sites; radar sites; ammunition; petroleum, oil and lubricants; and various other thin skinned (lightly armored) materiel targets out to 2000 meters.

The M107 will also be used in a counter sniper role taking advantage of the longer stand off range and increased terminal effect when opposing snipers armed with smaller caliber weapons out to 1000 meters.

Your version: The missions of this rifle is to engage and defeat material targets at very large ranges, including parked aircraft, command sites, radar sites, flammable liquids, and other lightly armored targets to a distance of about 2000 meters.

The M107 is also used in counter snipeing roles, taking advantage of the longer stand off range and increased terminal effect when opposing snipers armed with smaller caliber weapons out to, about, 1000 meters.

Anyone paying the vaguest amount of attention can see that you've copied the original, just changing a few words. This is unacceptable and I am deleting this again. You need to write it in your own words, changing a few words around or adding a few doesn't cut it, that is still a copyvio. One way to approach this is to read through the material and take brief notes, leave it for a few hours (or longer) and then come back and write your own version based purely on your brief notes. If you end up with something of basically the same structure as the original chances are you've done something wrong. Hope you don't get disheartened but your approach to this at the moment isn't working. --pgk 22:39, 12 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Adoption.[edit]

Greetings,

I joined wikipedia last year, but I haven't done much editing since then. I am a bit clueless as how to start contributing to wikipedia (I've done a number of translations already though), and would like to have someone experienced to guide me, and lead me to the path to glory and enlightenment :-P

Could you please adopt me? I'd be honored to be your padawan :-)

Hello and Thanks![edit]

Hi!

Thanks very much for adopting me, you are very kind :-). I realize that you are busy with things as well, so I will only ask questions when I feel it is clearly necessary... otherwise, I'll just read the Five pillars of Wikipedia and other newbie-oriented pages first. Thanks a lot, again!

Hey[edit]

I made my 400th edit today - woohoo! I know...no biggie...I just can't wait till my 500th. That'll be cause for celebration. ^_^ Anyways, just wanted to tell you everything is going well. I"ve had some issues with british spelling, but people are very understanding, and I'm learning, so it's ok.
Okies, have a great day!

new adoptee needs help citing sources[edit]

Hello, I would like to start my Wikipedia editing adventures by adding citations to existing articles. I have read the how to for footnotes, embedded citations and Harvard referencing. I am starting with an article on Virginia Western Community College. The article has embedded citations to web pages, but no reference section. I made some minor changes by updating student demographics and tuition. I want to add a reference section. Which style should I use? Do I keep with the original author's style? Thank you for adopting me. Roanoker
