Welcome![edit]

WELCOME!! Hello, Zencato! I want to personally welcome you on behalf of the Wikipedia community. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. If you haven't already, you can put yourself in the new user log and the list of users so you can be properly introduced to everyone. Don't forget to be bold, and don't be afraid of hungry Wikipedians...there's a rule about not biting newcomers. Some other good links are the tutorial, how to edit a page, or if you're really stuck, see the help pages. Wikipedia is held up by Five Pillars...I recommend reading about them if you haven't already. Finally, it would be really helpful if you would sign your name on talk pages, so people can get back to you quickly. It's easy to do this by clicking the button (next to the one with the "W" crossed out) one from the end on the left. If that's confusing, or if you have any questions, feel free to drop me a at my talk page (by clicking the plus sign (+) next to the tab at the top that says "edit this page")...and again, welcome!

PS You did a great formatting job with your first article. Bravo!!

Young Bond[edit]

Thank you. :) Unfortunately they're not as good as I'd like only because I haven't read Blood Fever and thus I don't want to spoil myself. Soon though. K1Bond007 21:54, 13 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Houdini External links[edit]

I should have put the following boilerplate on your Talk page when I took out the External links on the Houdini page:

Please do not add commercial links (or links to your own private websites) to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or a mere collection of external links. You are, however, encouraged to add content instead of links to the encyclopedia. See the welcome page to learn more. Thanks.

Take a look at the external links link, above. Your page falls under "sites that exist to sell products or services" and sites added by the owner of the site.

I don't mean to imply that yours is not a good site, and you clearly are not a spammer-- we see lot's of anons who come in and add their site to every article they can possibly stick it in, without adding any content. What we're looking for is exactly what you've done-- add your expertise directly to the contents of our article. We want to give the reader something more than they would get by googling a subject and then reading the first dozen links that come up-- we want all the good stuff in one article (ours). I hope you're willing to work that way, and forego the link to your site. Incidentally, it is considered OK to suggest your site on the article's talk page-- if someone else wants to add it, they can (though of course, someone else could come along and delete it).

Anyway, please don't take offense-- Spammer is an ugly word, and it clearly doesn't fit your activities, even though your site fits the definition of sites to avoid links to. Happy editing! -- Mwanner | Talk 22:41, 14 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Houdini's death[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your corrections to the section on Houdini's death at Harry Houdini. It's good to see somone with interest and knowledge about Houdini editing the article; however it's important to state where you got your information, so please go back and add some references to the references section (near the bottom of the article) with some details on things like page number if it is a book or long article. It's particularly important in this case, as some of your included info contradicts the only currently listed source, the Snopes article. One thing that caught my eye was your edit summary that said Bess was not present at the incident in the dressing room, but there are a couple other things (like the name changes). --C S (Talk) 21:12, 16 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Young Bond Website[edit]

Just wanted to let all my fellow Bond nuts know that I have a website devoted to the Young Bond series (and other Bond literary news) -- The Young Bond Dossier.

The site has been up and running for a few months now and it's going strong with almost daily NEWS updates (who would have thought there was so much to say about the Young Bond series).

I’ve also extended the site beyond Young Bond to other current Bond literary happenings like the Centenary Novel, The Moneypenny Diaries, Titan books, and the occasional Casino Royale news (just the good stuff). I've also added an FAQ page .

So (here comes the commercial) when you need news on what's happening in the world of the literary Bond (and beyond), head on over to The Young Bond Dossier.

Cheers. --Zencato 18:01, 30 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Bond sites[edit]

Hello, quick note. The External Links required clean-up, and I ruthlessly dispensed of sites not highly used, eg. the same level as Commander Bond. Sorry if you wanted an advert. Wiki-newbie 16:26, 28 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for Image:Colorizedusd.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Colorizedusd.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 23:05, 3 July 2007 (UTC)

Fair use disputed for Image:Great houdinis.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Great houdinis.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 23:30, 13 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Whoops! My apologies. I will be more careful in the future. --Zencato (talk) 19:40, 16 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Protecting the Houdini article[edit]

I'm not sure that the level of vandalism necessarily meets the criteria for protecting the article, without checking the quality of all anonymous IP edits, but if you feel it does, you're welcome to request protection yourself at WP:RPP. Let me know if you need any pointers. --McGeddon (talk) 17:37, 17 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
