Jay Anson AfD[edit]

Hi there! I see that you've added Jay Anson to the AfD list - however, you've not mentioned any reason why you think this article should be deleted. If you do have some reasons, just let me know and I can complete the AfD; however, if adding the entry was a mistake, you should remove it. Tevildo 15:55, 30 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Bulma[edit]

Hi, yeah, I'm sorry too. I saw after I looked more closely at your contributions (you're the IP ending in 136, right?) that you were actually trying to help. It's just that we get a mountain of vandalism, and a lot of it comes from anonymous users and manifests in blanking out portions of the page. So now that you have a username, you should be OK. Also, leave an explanation of what you're doing in the edit summary box, something short and sweet like "removing unnecessary plot summaries" or something, so folks know what you're doing and don't assume you're vandalizing. Sorry again for jumping to conclusions. Peace, delldot talk 23:25, 23 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

By the way, if you need any help with anything, don't hesitate to ask on my talk page. Peace, delldot talk 23:26, 23 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

TTN[edit]

OK, I'll look into it and get back to you as soon as I figure something out. Peace, delldot talk 15:48, 27 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Did you try to discuss the problem with them? I didn't see anything in your contributions or on their talk page. Maybe you should try just discussing it with them before assuming they're unwilling to budge. It's considered very rude to revert or undo someone's edit without discussing it on the talk page of the article or the person whos edit it is. Of course, that goes for them as well; neither of you should have reverted the other's edit without discussion. Anyway, try talking to them in a friendly way. Of course, they may not be willing to discuss it, in which case you'll need to go through the steps of dispute resolution, but definitely try talking it out first, way less of a PITA. As a bonus, you may want to familiarize yourself with WP:FICT, the guideline on articles about fictional characters, so you can understand their assertion that the characters aren't notable.
I'll give them a heads up that this discussion is happening here to hopefully get the two of you talking. I'll try and help however I can, but I warn you I'm kind of bad at this sort of thing. Peace, delldot talk 16:29, 27 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hm, I certainly understand your reluctance to get into a conflict, I'm definitely that way too. But I don't really know what to tell you if you don't want to discuss it with them. Your options are pretty much to either discuss it with them and face the possibility of unpleasantness, or to forget about it and let them have their way (my usual choice any time I get in anything resembling a conflict!) I can talk to them if you like, but I'm going to be honest about why I'm bringing it up, so unpleasantness may ensue for you anyway. And to be perfectly honest, I'm not sure whose side I'd be on if I looked closely at the articles in question (which I haven't done yet); I don't know whether I'd think they met the notability criteria for fictional characters. In fact, I think if you took this through dispute resolution they may be able to convince other wikipedians that the articles shouldn't exist (but again I don't know, I haven't looked closely at them yet). But anyway, yeah, I think they should have discussed it before making a big change like that, so I can let them know that if you like. However, I don't think anything they've done resembles vandalism. You said you thought that "changing articles without one's consent IS illegal in Wikipedians standards and counts as vandalism": nope, Wikipedians are supposed to be bold, and then discuss the changes if there's disagreement about the edit. There's no ownership of articles. Anyway, let me know what you want to do, good luck with this! Peace, delldot talk 17:35, 27 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
  • I removed your PROD from this article and brought it to AfD instead. I don't believe a proposed deletion on an article such as that would go unopposed, and it's better to bring it to AfD than to have someone else simply remove the PROD without explanation. You can go ahead and vote on it here. Cheers, JuJube (talk) 03:15, 11 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

prod[edit]

I removed your prod on the exceptionally distinguished legal scholar and statesman Louis B. Sohn.I would not recommend you take it to AfD, for there is not a chance it would be deleted. It is sourced by the NYT, andalso check GS and GBooks. DGG (talk) 08:58, 12 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Cosmo (Sonic the Hedgehog)[edit]

Why did you delete the Cosmo article she played a very important role in Sonic X, I mean its practically vandalism people wanted that page and you had no reason to delete it.Fairfieldfencer (talk) 09:36, 26 December 2007 (UTC)Fairfieldfencer[reply]

Her article didn't site any sources, and she needed REAL WORLD INFORMATION. In short, it's all just simple FANCRUFT, so I wiped it out. I doubt you would've improved it yourself anywayz. ZeroGiga (Contact) 23:36, 26 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

What "real world information" could you get out of a fictional series? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.235.175.147 (talk) 06:38, 19 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If you're going to use that rationale as grounds for DELETING an article, you might as well go and delete half the articles in the Sonic the Hedgehog section. --Danish Ranger 16:14, 7 February 2008 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Danish Ranger (talkcontribs)

Take look at yamucha article and give me your opinion SSJ 5 (talk) 02:48, 31 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yo! I added some new stuff to the Yamucha article, and started working on Tenshinhan, check Yamucha article out. I'd like to know your opinion. SSJ 5 (talk) 16:05, 17 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Point of view[edit]

At this point, are you trying to get things deleted because you're trying to make some kind of point in that if the articles that you liked were removed, other articles like them should also be removed? Or have you taken up a stance that this information is not relevant to an encyclopedia? While the second reason is fine, it would be best if you were to stop if you're just trying to make a point. TTN (talk) 00:06, 24 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I ain't tryin' to make a point, dude. The rules are rules. We just gotta follow them, right? I'm just hinting that you're possibly doing the former, judging from your responses I see from, ahem, other talk pages (Example, Eusebeus Talk page, section: ==Request==, the Crash Bandicoot talk pages), including one that suggests that you don't value information but just wipe it out regardless of what the rules are or the condition of the pages. Perhaps that Fair-whatevertheheckhisnameis kid, who calls us "vandals" because we target the pages of a series HE LIKES, is right about what we're doing. But then again, that's HIS point of view. You said the wikia's a good place for those who value information, right? After seeing what's been happenin, then perhaps that is a good place. I'm just making sure that you're not taking advantage of this situation, got it? ZeroGiga (Contact) 00:18, 24 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Quite often, people become mad about articles being removed, so they try to get everything else removed (even viable articles) in order to make a point. In the very least, that's what you were doing at first (hence my question). As long as you're currently doing it for encyclopedic improvement, I won't bug you anymore. TTN (talk) 00:40, 24 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I didn't do it because I'm mad about articles being deleted. (To see the continuation of the response, go to your talk page.), I'm just suggesting that you're taking the advantage of the rules to tear everything apart, otherwise, the edits you would make wouldn't cause, like, a MILLION reverts per day. Like you, I believe that some articles aren't suitable, but then again, from what I see, your words on talk pages, and your persistence in getting articles merged into one cluttered mess, you don't actually care about real world information, or much less information AT ALL, that you're probably some AGENT with a goal to MAKE A POINT to the site by using the rules AGAINST THEM with them remaining oblivious. That's what I suspected at first as well. -- ZeroGiga (Contact) 00:18, 24 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
happened to drop by, and perhaps we might all want to work together towards rescuingas many articles as possible, by performing merges without loss of significant content, and by developing reasonable and attainable standards for driect and indirect sourcing. Lets not wait for arb com--especially as they will probably only tell us to settle it ourselves anyway. TTN, I would not have been opposing you had you done it more considerately slowly and with care to obtain consensus. We can still fix things. DGG (talk) 09:58, 25 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Request[edit]

Hey there, just like you, i love Tsukihime, espeacially the characters, right now, those articles are AfD, and i just readed the entry. You saying that unless they have real world and source or something like that, they won't be delete or merge to Characters of Tsukihime, but the problem is: i don't really understand that kind of things. As you can see, i don't know much about AfD. For example, when i saw an AfD on Demon Eyes Kyo, i was shocked that it going to be deleted, but a few days later, the AfD gone and i didn't know how.Sure the characters deserve to have their own articles and i hate when someone redirect that, if you don't mind, can you tell me more about how to keep those?

Postscript: it would have been better if you done that on Fate, i don't like it though. OgasawaraSachiko (User talk:OgasawaraSachiko) 11:55, 24 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

really, has nobody in any country written anything on this series that discuss the characters--you seem to know about the series--are there any sources you know of? Where have you looked? 09:40, 25 January 2008 (UTC)

Regarding your recent AfD nominations[edit]

Please note that Articles for Deletions is a process that is used to discuss weather or not the article should be deleted. It is not a place for administrative hearings on what to do with the article, nor it is a merge discussion, so please do not treat it as such. After all, it is called Articles for Deletions. I closed few of your debates as no consensus and one of your debates as merge because there was mostly lack of consensus for article deletion, which is what this process is used for. If you want to discuss a possible merge, the article talk page is a perfect place for it. If you have any questions feel free to leave a message on my talk page. Thanks. rogue editors[edit]

Hi, it's a deliberate typo. Sometimes people complain about admins gone rogue, and they would often typo that to "rouge admins", so it's used in a light hearted way. there used to be a category "rouge admins", but that got deleted. Kind Regards! Dan Beale-Cocks 19:40, 24 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re:Chaos Emeralds.[edit]

Final Fight: Streetwise[edit]

What exactly about "We don't give that much space for characters, and that section cannot be salvaged." do you disagree with? That section only requires two paragraphs along with two or three for the plot. That current section cannot possibly be trimmed, and it is just useless as a reference for building one from scratch. This time, I even left a little bit for people to work with. So what is wrong here? TTN (talk) 00:02, 27 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Look at the first sentence. Who's the "we" in the case? Just think about that. Do you actually believe that you can just wipe out all those characters just because YOU think it's useless. And what you're doing is not simply "trimming" as you call it, it's just getting rid of all of this useful information Just 2 paragraphs, BAH! You're just hammering your ethic into this community again. Until you actually have a more sensible solution towards this, I don't suggest you edit it to that degree. ZeroGiga (talk) 02:04, 27 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
"We" is referring to the users of this site and their standards. Take a look at some of our featured game articles (i.e. the standards), and you'll see that if they have character sections, they're one to three paragraphs on average. This article, especially, doesn't even require a character section (as it is just a simple brawler), but I'm trying to leave that open for now. That current section has no use, so it needs to be removed and replaced. TTN (talk) 02:21, 27 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
And who are these "users" besides your friends who love to do this and stick up for you, hmm?? Just try to show me, because, if I recall correctly, everyone felt safe since you're gone. Nobody agree for you to do this, and it is the community that agreed to restrict your actions in the first place. Also, if you think that this page doesn't require a character section, then why'd you merge the characters of Dirge of Cerberus into the article? All because they're EXCLUSIVE to that game, according to YOU. According to your asinine logic here, you'd need to wipe those out because they're just part of "one game." This game is also part of a FINAL FIGHT FRANCHISE, so why not try to create a "List of Final Fight characters" article or something. Stop with your contradictory actions here, dude and be considerate of others. ZeroGiga (talk) 02:27, 27 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
You do know that people that don't involve themselves in fiction "vote" for the articles to become featured, right? Those articles are also worked on by various people I've never come into contact with. That is the community standard, and even if you don't like me, you should at least understand that. Games require character sections and lists depending on the weight of the characters. If the game is heavily story based, character sections are fine (i.e. Dirge of Cerberus). Otherwise, the main plot section takes care of them because they're so simple (i.e. simple beat 'em ups). Series generally get lists unless the single games can hold them (this series), while single games only get them with creation and reception information. That's how this system works. TTN (talk) 02:46, 27 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
"That's how the system works..." to your advantage, hmm? May I remind you that these characters play a "role" in that game, too? Final Fight Streetwise, even though it's a CRAPPY game, does have a story, and at least ONE of those characters have played a major role in it in some way and form. And not to be rude, but I don't have time for this little triffle. I'll let you off the hook for now, but we'll have to continue this later. ZeroGiga (talk) 02:49, 27 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Please actually read my comments. Beat 'em ups are very simple games with very simple plots. Unlike an RPG, you can cover the plot of one in a few paragraphs, allowing you to also fit the characters there. That's why there is no need for a separate section. It's just redundant. TTN (talk) 02:58, 27 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, and on a side note, just because the featured articles have 3 paragraphs on the characters, that doesn't mean that all of them have to have 3 or less paragraphs. Wikipedia has a neutral point-of-view, after all.

Your recent PRODs[edit]

Hello. I noticed that you proposed deletion of several articles without leaving edit summaries. Per WP:PROD, when you PROD an article, say so in the edit summary. Also, your PROD of Thomas Dwight (politician) has been removed. Congresspersons, MP's and state legislators are automatically notable per WP:BIO. I also saw your PROD of Springfield Technical Community College, I will deal with that one next. Finally, before you tag an article, please make a good faith effort to look for sources. • Gene93k (talk) 08:29, 27 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Alright, I understand the Politician, but I'm sure that STCC doesn't pass WP: SCHOOL, so I assumed that I should prod it. ZeroGiga (talk) 14:54, 27 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
STCC is an accredited degree granting tertiary school.[1] Legitimate higher ed schools have generally been considered notable and they routinely survive AfD. The WP:SCHOOL proposal used to say that. A Google News search also shows non-trivial coverage. Whatever the recent changes were at WP:SCHOOL, deletions of high schools and higher ed schools are controversial at best, and PROD is not for contentious deletions. • Gene93k (talk) 15:41, 27 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Re:Akatsuki (Naruto)[edit]

It was done via discussion and via consensus. You're dealing in semantics at this point. Sephiroth BCR (Converse) 04:26, 9 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hence the point that you're dealing in semantics. It's a fait accompli at this point - why do you care? And by the way, comment in your original post, don't start a new topic every time you reply. Sephiroth BCR (Converse) 09:03, 9 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Fail accompli? Whatever. I know I can't do anything about it now, I'm just reminding you to use merge tags next time, okay? ZeroGiga (talk) 09:04, 9 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The only purpose of the tags is to alert people who commonly edit the article to discuss, and I invited those who are commonly involved to discuss. Yet again, it's semantics. Don't dwell on it. Sephiroth BCR (Converse) 09:07, 9 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Anyhow, for the Bloody Roar characters, I don't particularly want to get involved in that discussion at the moment, but feel free to bring it up at WT:VG. Sephiroth BCR (Converse) 09:07, 9 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

RE: AfD nomination of No. 18[edit]

Thanks for letting me know. I really think Bulma's page should as well be afd'd but, apparently, the last two didn't work out so well. Thoughts? Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 01:12, 10 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think so. She's a major character in all 3 series, and I think that we should give her a little more time to find sources for her. 18's case, she's just notable in the Cell Saga and Super 17, which, in my opinion, means she DEFINATELY doesn't stand much of a chance compared to Bulma. By the way, how are you doing with the Tenshinhan article? ZeroGiga (talk) 01:14, 10 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the cookie. Now the Bulma page needs a serious revamp. Think you can do it? Tenshinhan needs cleanup and additional sources. Wish I had more time on my hands (damn real life). Lord Sesshomaru (talkedits) 01:36, 10 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sega Project Invitation[edit]

Hello, ZeroGiga. Thanks for all the help you've given the project in arguing against TTN and being a supporter of the merger into Chaos Emeralds, which I did a couple of days ago. Anyway, you seem to be fairly active around the project, so I thought I'd extend to you this invitation to join the Sega Project. If you choose to join, you can add your name to the member list at WP:SEGA/M and add {{Segabox2}} to your userpage, or just add Category:WikiProject Sega members. If you choose to decline, just inform me so I know. We also have a Sonic Task Force, if you want to join that, too. I have also included this stylized invitation that we have at the Sega Project. Thanks for all your help, and I hope you consider joining and becoming an active member.

Fiction rejected[edit]

After 10 days of RfC there is clear evidence that Fiction does not have the support of the community. Thus I've marked it with the Failed tag. But the proponents are not going to let this die. While not disputing their failure they are already fussing with tags which willl perpetuate this festering corpse. A little help? --Kevin Murray (talk) 01:02, 14 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Oi vey. The deletionist gutter trash are still going at it? Why not just report them if FICT isn't in effect anymore. They can be considered vandals from their Post-Rfc actions, right? ZeroGiga (talk) 18:19, 19 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The problem is that without several users willing to actively support tagging this rejected, the supporters will just stall and then claim a new consensus. --Kevin Murray (talk) 00:26, 24 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding canon[edit]

Generally wikipedia, at least as far as the Capcom articles go, doesn't seem to care about what titles are canon over what ones are not. Kinda ran into that a lot when working on articles over in that regard (some members like User:Jonny2x4 outright oppose an emphasis on canon).

Regarding why those two remained (kinda had them on my watch list, forgot about them), they basically just left out from the mass merge User:FightingStreet did awhile back. Since they were GAs in the past, they remained in hopes they could be fixed with references and reception. Oh, and Kim Kaphwan does still have his own article actually. Other than that, there you go.--Kung Fu Man (talk) 05:46, 16 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
