You are now a Reviewer[edit]

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 18:27, 17 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion declined: Branch Area Career Center[edit]

Hello Zidane tribal. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Branch Area Career Center, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: A7 does not apply to schools. Thank you. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 04:20, 2 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

To be perfectly honest, they're all so great. It's hard to say which one is the best, because when you are playing one, you think it's way better than the other one. But then you go back to that one, it seems better. Ffgamera - My page! · Talk to me!· Contribs 03:57, 12 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (File:En_Vivo_en_La_Carcel_de_Santa_Martha.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:En_Vivo_en_La_Carcel_de_Santa_Martha.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Melesse (talk) 03:06, 13 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

N.B.[edit]

I presume by authorship you mean it requires copyediting? Yes unfortunately it was decided to merged the two together. I am going to eventually rewrite the thing. --Lil-unique1 (talk) 01:04, 22 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Un Cuarto de Siglo has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

not notable

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. AirplaneProRadioChecklist 02:41, 1 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have nominated Un Cuarto de Siglo, an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Un Cuarto de Siglo. Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. AirplaneProRadioChecklist 03:09, 1 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. :) I just wanted to drop some suggestions for how you might expand the article. Articles are more likely to be redirected to the band if there isn't much more information than a track list. I'd help with this, but I really can't. My Spanish is pretty poor. :D

First, sources can come in any language. If you find a reliable source in Spanish, great. If quoting, just provide your own translation. Accordingly, you might want to expand it with a bit more content. One thing that I traditionally do with live albums and compilation albums is reference where they originally appeared. If you can find out what albums these songs were originally published on, you might mention that in the tracklist. Here's an early example of an article where I did that: Memories (Barbra Streisand album). That can provide valuable and interesting information for readers. If you can find sources (in any language), you might also talk about which if any of the songs are particularly notable. You can talk about the venue where the concert was held, if you can find that out. You could put the album in the context of El Tri's history. How popular were they in Oct 12, 1993? If you can find interviews or articles from that time period, it can help you add sourced content to the article. If you decide to expand the article and you want some help polishing the English, let me know. I'll be happy to put some time into it. :) --Moonriddengirl (talk) 13:39, 1 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

GAN[edit]

Since u assessed Sir Lucious Left Foot before, would u be interested in reviewing it as a GA nomination? Dan56 (talk) 21:50, 16 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Would the use of this image in the recording section be alright? Dan56 (talk) 15:33, 24 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thats fine. Take your time. Dan56 (talk) 20:42, 25 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I have another question for the article. Would this post signify an official single release? Or would the article need a citation for it being sent out to radio? These things about singles being official can confuse me. Dan56 (talk) 01:48, 4 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I dont mean to trouble you, but will you be reviewing this article anytime soon? Dan56 (talk) 21:16, 9 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I appreciate your input, and thank you very much. Dan56 (talk) 22:45, 12 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Trouble you for a favor?[edit]

Hi. Hope things are going well with you in school. :) I wonder if you might have time to help out with a review that's a little bit out of your neighborhood. Dan56 is looking for a review of a music genre article: Neo soul. As you know, I don't do much with article reviews anymore, myself. The project is largely inactive. The only members I can find are scarcely around and some of them have not edited in more than a month. Do you think you'd feel comfortable assessing it? The project guidelines, marked historical, are here. If you're not comfortable doing that, no worries, please just let me know and I'll track down somebody else. :) --Moonriddengirl (talk) 14:48, 12 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Unexpected assessment[edit]

Thanks for assessing the Unexpected (Michelle Williams album) page...I worked really hard on it and I thought it was around a B, so I'm happy to see that my judgement is decent for evaluating other pages. Thanks :) JonathanLGardner (talk) 23:40, 8 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Zidane... thanks for the heads up.. I've fixed the link. I thought that one article might be best for these two albums as they were recorded at the same concert with the same personell and probably don't merit two articles (see Meet You at the Jazz Corner of the World as another example) - although you are welcome to split them into two articles if you disagree. Image copyright problem with File:Basibozuk.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Basibozuk.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

This is an automated notice by FairuseBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. --FairuseBot (talk) 07:09, 10 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks![edit]

Hey, thank you for the big compliment! I try to limit my contributions to a select number of articles, attempting to get them up to good levels. Because I cover topics that aren't very mainstream, a "C" class rating is about the highest I can attain, so imagine my joy when I found out two of my articles were instantly upgraded to "C" yesterday (while I primarily just wanted to get rid of that dreadful stub template).

In return, can I just thank you for your hard work on rating articles in the WikIProject Albums? Some WikiProjects need people like you. You have reviewed articles by me before (i.e. Owsley (album)) so I know you have been doing this for far longer. Which makes your compliment all the more valuable to me. Latin American music task force invite[edit]

Hello Zidane tribal! I've noticed your tastes relating to Latin American music especially rock en español. I would like to invite you to join the Latin music task force a collaborative effort which aims to create, expand, and maintain Latin American music-related articles. If you'd like to join, please sign up here. Thank you. Magiciandude (talk) 00:56, 17 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Zidane! Thanks for joining! As for assessment, I've never done them before, but Tbhotch does a great job of assessing them and helped out reassessing articles for the task force, so you could ask him. I'll be glad to help out with anything you need for articles. P.S: I like FF9 too. Magiciandude (talk) 01:56, 17 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Neo soul (2)[edit]

Hi. I've made some significant improvements to neo soul. Since you gave its grade before, would you care to reassess? Dan56 (talk) 00:45, 21 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hey man, it's actually the kind of feedback I was looking for. Apparently I can get articles up to C-class now, but am still learning how to write articles that could head towards B/(A)/GA, so any direct response to guide me further and point out anything missing is very welcome. So far you've helped me several times along the way, and I'm grateful for your time and patience. Many WikiProjects aren't as active because they lack people like you. So there is nothing picky or a'holish about what you wrote me; I asked for feedback, and you expressed your view as an expert (who has probably seen in the thousands of articles in this field, and in any case way, way more than me).

Among others the sample and Template:Album ratings I hadn't thought of before (didn't even know the latter template existed, only that the "Reviews" parameter should not be used anymore. So please know that I will be putting your comments to good use. I know what I have to do this coming while (which will also be applied to other articles I maintain).

As for the personnel section; don't be deceived by its length, as this album really was recorded by a three-piece band and a two-piece crew (notice that they shared the core tasks between them). If I could have made it longer or even longer, I surely would have. Come to think of it, it might be interesting to investigate what the rationale was behind such an unusually small crew. Perhaps in spite of the pre-album successes, EMI still doubted it would sell enough to make a profit? That would shed a wholly different light on the matter... Anyway, thanks again & keep up the good work! --Eddyspeeder (talk) 23:43, 5 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, I'm almost done with a FF studio albums Good Topic (only The Colour and the Shape and There Is Nothing Left to Lose remain). I could ask for tips on what to work on/put in the articles, but don't know how free you are. In the meantime, can you take a look at the topic I've managed to complete? Looking 4 Myself rating[edit]

Hey there Zidane,

thanks for re-assessing the Looking 4 Myself article, and for being so generous with the rating! I'm not sure if you've noticed, or if you haven't gotten to it yet, but the article hasn't been checked against the criteria yet. I'd appreciate it if you could do that, unless you're busy, then I understand. Again, thank you. Rayman95 (talk) 18:11, 30 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, I understand, I'll just get someone to do it. I'll probably (attempt to) make the album a GA when it starts maturing in sales, thanks for the encouragement though! And for the third time today, thanks for re-assessing the article (and so fast!). Rayman95 (talk) 18:39, 30 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Sound + Vision and Glass Spider Tour ratings improvement?[edit]

First, thank you for taking the time to review the articles I submitted. They were my first articles I've put up for peer review so I was curious if you had any feedback about anything obvious that needs to change in either of the two articles to perhaps bump them up in rating. I'm just looking to see if there's anything simple or direct that should change - anything that stood out. If there is, fantastic, please let me know so I can try and address it. If it's "big stuff" that needs to change, well, I'll probably just let the current ratings stand. Thanks again!

Thanks![edit]

Thanks for your assessment on Frequency Unknown, and your input on what I can do to make it better! :-) Not sure if you remember, but you've helped me get a few other articles (especially some by Tim Christensen) up to C-class. With these more high-profile albums (like Frequency Unknown is), it's easier to find information and skilled co-writers, so I'm happy to see the standard is improving. Thanks again man, always a pleasure to see something from you pop by :-) --Eddyspeeder (talk) 19:31, 19 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I was requesting an assessment for the first time, and it was my hope that someone would check the criteria for B-class in these articles. What issues do they have that they are still C-class? In other words, what next steps should I take so that they would meet criteria for B-class? — Mayast (talk) 08:47, 9 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your reply, it was very helpful :) I did my best dividing personnel on The 20/20 Experience page (or anyway tried to, without having the actual album booklet). About those samples for The 2nd Law, do you mean 30-second audio samples that can be seen in some articles? I've never uploaded any of those and don't know what the rules are – where can I read more about that? — Mayast (talk) 19:20, 9 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I managed to find that info about audio samples, and I added one to The 2nd Law. But I found some resistance among Timberlake contributors when it comes to "Personnel" section in The 20/20 Experience (as you can see on my talk page) :o) — Mayast (talk) 23:08, 9 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Frames (Lee DeWyze album) assessment[edit]

Hi, thanks for assessing the article Frames (Lee DeWyze album) for me. What do you think still needs to be done for it to reach B-class? --Jpcase (talk) 14:32, 17 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Pictures and a sound sample could make for nice additions, but they aren’t actually required for B-class articles, are they? I would add a rating template, but only two reviews give the album star-based ratings. One of these gives it three stars out of five, which while positive, isn’t indicative of the general consensus amongst critics that the album is better than average. As such, I don’t feel that a rating template would accurately represent the album’s overall critical reception. You also mentioned content and manual of style, but didn’t give any examples of how I should improve upon these areas. Are you seeing any flaws in them that are keeping the article from receiving a B-class rating? Thanks again for taking the time to review this for me. :) --Jpcase (talk) 19:42, 17 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for taking the time to assess the Primal Scream article. Hi Zidane tribal! I was wondering if you still do reassessment requests. The Latin music project now has its own assessment page, but I haven't decided yet if the project should take assessment requests as we're not as active as other music-related projects. A tag has been placed on Category:Thy Disease albums requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the category has been empty for seven days or more and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion".
