February 2023[edit]

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for advertising or self-promoting in violation of the conflict of interest and notability guidelines.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text below the block notice on your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  --Blablubbs (talk) 19:05, 8 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

Hi, I haven't been advertising or self promoting anything? I have no self interest in any of my edits or created articles. I'm not sure which edit has resulted in me being blocked, I just like jumping between topics/people to find edits that can be made. Please can this be reviewed so I can be unblocked? Thank you. ZillennialWriter (talk) 19:24, 8 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

Procedural decline only. This unblock request has been open for more than two weeks but has not proven sufficient for any reviewing administrator to take action. You are welcome to request a new block review if you substantially reword your request. To be unblocked, you must convince the reviewing administrator(s) that

  • the block is not necessary to prevent damage or disruption to Wikipedia, or
  • the block is no longer necessary because you
    1. understand what you have been blocked for,
    2. will not continue to cause damage or disruption, and
    3. will make useful contributions instead.

Please read the guide to appealing blocks for more information. Yamla (talk) 21:06, 9 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Hi GeneralNotability do you know if I'm meant to create another account? I saw two accounts with a similar name to yours suggested I should because the block was in error, but this has now been reverted. Sorry, I've still been getting used to Wikipedia, and I'm a bit confused! ZillennialWriter (talk) 09:11, 9 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

There is a vandal that monitors the unblock requests category and tries to convince people to evade their block which will only get them in further trouble. Do not create a new account. You can check to see if a user is an actual administrator by going to Special:ActiveUsers, and search for a username which will bring up their user rights(including "administrator"). You can also check the logs of a user to see how recently their account was created, new accounts are not adminstrators. 331dot (talk) 10:22, 9 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
In short, do not believe people who tell you to create a new account to get around your block. 331dot (talk) 10:23, 9 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

331dot That makes sense, thank you for your reply! ZillennialWriter (talk) 10:25, 9 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • How are you choosing the subjects of your edits? 331dot (talk) 10:37, 9 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
It depends really, sometimes I’ll be watching the TV and see something and think ‘oo I can check their Wikipedia page’, other times I follow threads on Twitter that lead me to thinking about edits. I’m also based in Manchester so I have an interest in the local area which is some of my edits. I also used to live in London where I did an Art based degree which is why I have some arty edits. I worked in the city of London before moving back to Manc so that definitely piqued my interest in politics and finance (plus that’s all the news is these days!) Sorry that I'm repeating posting this, I wasn't sure if I had replied/posted properly ZillennialWriter (talk) 19:00, 9 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Also, I forgot to add that I often make edits when I believe I can neutralise what's written as I've found theres a lot of opinions on peoples pages that are in the news or talked about on Twitter :) ZillennialWriter (talk) 19:05, 9 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
How about Draft:ISA Pharmaceuticals B.V.? What made you decide to write about them? GeneralNotability (talk) 00:47, 12 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Also, have you ever used any other accounts? GeneralNotability (talk) 00:49, 12 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, I don't have any other accounts/never used any other accounts. I created the ISA Pharmaceuticals article as it was a company I came across whilst I was researching a type of cancer. A family member of mine was diagnosed and this company was/is doing human clinical trials for this specific type of cancer. As a result I did a lot of research into them and later realised I could use what I'd found to create the article (although it still needs some work and I'm not sure if it will pass the review process). Hope that helps! ZillennialWriter (talk) 15:01, 12 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, do you know what I would need to do to be unbanned? Thanks! ZillennialWriter (talk) 18:02, 1 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, do you know when my block request will be reviewed? Thanks! ZillennialWriter (talk) 10:05, 16 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi, do I need to contact someone at Wikipedia to review my block? I'm happy to answer any more questions editors have. I only joined last year as I saw wikipedia was in need of female editors but if not I'll just delete my account. Thanks again ZillennialWriter (talk) 09:49, 3 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Is there anything else I can do to help? Thanks! ZillennialWriter (talk) 09:55, 19 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • (Just a note that I'll take over as reviewing admin as the editor is overdue for a decision.) Nosebagbear (talk) 01:25, 6 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, would my block be able to be reviewed? I'm happy to answer any questions editors have and I've reviewed the current Wiki guidelines so that going forward there aren't any issues.
