Wikipedia is not an indiscriminate collection of information, and articles on venues should not list arbitrary artists who happened to perform there. It would seem reasonable that if a performance led to a live recording or was deemed notable due to some other factor, including it makes sense. If you want to be constructive, feel free to start a discussion on relevant article talk pages. --ZimZalaBim talk 13:21, 5 July 2022 (UTC)

Sarah McBride

Sorry, I meant to say MOS:GENDERID - which says that avoiding gendered language is against Wikipedia policy. Could you please look at that and then judge the edits to Sarah McBride? 92.10.13.209 (talk) 02:52, 8 July 2022 (UTC)

That is a style guidelines, and also not an official policy. Nevertheless, where does it suggest that "avoiding gendered language is against Wikipedia policy"? --ZimZalaBim talk 02:57, 8 July 2022 (UTC)
For example, look at the infobox for Caitlyn Jenner when you try editing her article. This is standard procedure for articles about trans people. 92.10.13.209 (talk) 03:01, 8 July 2022 (UTC)
I don't know precisely what you want me to look at on that page, but the practice per MOS:GENDERID is to be sure to use the person's latest expressed gender throughout an article, even when discussing their past when a different gender might have been expressed (or in a source). That's not the question here. Regardless, this conversation needs to be at the article in question. I've posted there. --ZimZalaBim talk 03:06, 8 July 2022 (UTC)

The deletion log says you deleted this in 2006, with the unpromising rationale of 'db-nocontent'. I'm planning on recreating this article: before I do, I'd just like to check that there is, in fact, nothing useful in the deleted content. — Charles Stewart (talk) 19:17, 11 July 2022 (UTC)

Sorry, I was an admin back then, but my status lapsed due to a gap in participation on the project. You'll need to ping some other current admin who presumably can view what was there. --ZimZalaBim talk 19:40, 11 July 2022 (UTC)
Oh! I would not have classed you as a lapsed editor. Assuming you lost your privileges following the recent adoption of automatically de-adminning lapsed editors, perhaps it was not wise to institute this policy just as much of the world was coming out of various degrees of lockdown. — Charles Stewart (talk) 22:17, 11 July 2022 (UTC)

Infobox improvements for CZ Biohub

Hi there, I recently tagged you in an edit request on the CZ Biohub Talk page. I'm hoping to improve the organization's infobox by adding a logo and a "Purpose" line to it. Following up with you to see if you had any interest in reviewing that request. Here's a link to my initial post.

Full disclosure: I work for a communications firm that has been contracted by CZ Biohub, so I have to rely on independent editors to judge the quality of my suggested edits. Any help you can provide with this one would be very much appreciated. Thanks! Patricia at GMMB (talk) 14:28, 13 July 2022 (UTC)

Anti-Military Bigoted Edits

Zim, please stop trolling wikipedia and removing military-related factors from pages like Sandra Day O'Connor and Veterans. The three-reversion rule is a bright-line rule. And further attempts like this could result in you being banned. Please open these topics in the talk pages if you want to continue to oppose the military. Removed sources

Hey, firstly, thanks for being dedicated to cleaning up Wikipedia.

I was adding what I thought was valuable information and references to a few psychological biases this morning, linking to non-for-profit research company. Importantly, nothing similar was visible in the articles that I posted content on.

i.e., I added context about Threads' growth that didn't exist, but is historic and accurate.

What did I do wrong here? I thought I added fair resources, cited properly, without breaking any rules. 5.154.184.232 (talk) 12:50, 4 August 2023 (UTC)

You added links to the same random, not-particuarly-notable website to various pages. That's spamming through inappropriate citations and links. --ZimZalaBim talk 12:53, 4 August 2023 (UTC)
I really didn't think they were inappropriate, as they add genuine context. There are no ads or paywalls on these resources, and the links were all different, to different articles about psychology.
Are any of them allowed to stay up? I was trying to be helpful. 5.154.184.232 (talk) 14:20, 4 August 2023 (UTC)
I'd suggest starting a discussion on the relevant article's talk pages to see if there is condenses as to whether the links are helpful. Given that you appear to be a single purpose account, it remains unclear if you'll succeed. --ZimZalaBim talk 14:24, 4 August 2023 (UTC)

Encyclopedic value

"Ok, sure, but dating someone isn't inherently of encyclopedic value. With all due respect, I am genuinely confused. If that reason to undo my edit is accurate, then you should inform all the other editors on this encyclopedia who have added information regarding that specific detail in an individual's personal life on their Wikipedia article. However, this is a genuine concern, not a threat of any kind. If you decide to do that, you might accidentally get into an edit war. There are countless Wikipedia articles about entertainers that contain that specific information, so I still do not understand the reason you provided. Bibliophile Dragon (talk) 17:33, 3 September 2023 (UTC)

In my view, someone's dating life doesn't rise to the level of belonging in a biography (short of something notable coming from such activity). Feel free to make your case and see if there is consensus on the relevant article's talk page.--ZimZalaBim talk 17:39, 3 September 2023 (UTC)

About Keep reverting changes on Temu and PDD

How is adding company's English logo to an international company who operates globally unneccessary as you said by reverting changes, along with some other similar edits? I can see you edited a lot of tech companies in history, you should probably know that. Currently, these two companies, operating globally, only has little and mostly negative information due to continue vandalization from politicians, haters, and competitors; while if you go to Google's Wike page, it's all long and nice and details and images, it is pretty obvious that people are attacking these pages. — Preceding unsigned comment added by AnnieYW (talkcontribs) 00:21, 8 September 2023 (UTC)

You appear to be a single-purpose account and I'm tiring of trying to explain the policies of this encyclopedia to you. Take your beefs to the article's talk pages to build consensus. --ZimZalaBim talk 00:59, 8 September 2023 (UTC)

Deletion of arXiv reference

Hello, I noticed that you deleted an edit I made on the Kate Crawford page. Note that Wikipedia does allow arXiv as a source and even has a template for the purpose: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:Cite_arXiv. While arXiv is not peer-reviewed, it is moderated. If you wish to remove all sources from the Wikipedia that are not peer-reviewed I think you will have a rather time consuming task. Good luck with that.

I recommend going through the references on that page and asking yourself which of them are peer-reviewed sources. Many are not even moderated.

I have added one peer-reviewed source and an article written by a technology journalist to support the statement. 2A00:23C8:6784:4701:684A:1A3F:7D0A:B5DD (talk) 22:32, 17 September 2023 (UTC)

Please see WP:ARXIV. Yes, sometimes published, peer-reviewed articles are also on arxiv and thus there is a means to cite that archive. But this essay doesn't fit that case. --ZimZalaBim talk 22:37, 17 September 2023 (UTC)
Fewer than 50% of the references in that Wikipedia article are peer-reviewed.
It reads like a combination resume and fan club website. 2A00:23C8:6784:4701:684A:1A3F:7D0A:B5DD (talk) 01:25, 18 September 2023 (UTC)
Arguments centered on WP:OTHERCONTENT aren't convincing. I fully support ensuring fair and critical coverage of subjects of articles, but a random self-published essay doesn't rise to WP:RS, even if it is mentioned in passing in another random Medium post. --ZimZalaBim talk 01:37, 18 September 2023 (UTC)
The statement is sufficiently supported by reference 45, which is a definitive source on good practices for AI in art, a topic of important to the section itself. Your use of the term 'random' in this reply suggests that you are arguing in bad faith. None of the items that have been proposed to support the statement could remotely be considered as random. 2A00:23C8:6784:4701:684A:1A3F:7D0A:B5DD (talk) 08:42, 18 September 2023 (UTC)
This accusation of bad faith is rich coming from a WP:SPA. --ZimZalaBim talk 14:18, 18 September 2023 (UTC)
Not an account, need I remind you. 2A00:23C8:6784:4701:3987:14E0:327E:14AC (talk) 15:09, 18 September 2023 (UTC)
Likewise you have not understood the purpose of this edit. You keep describing the primary source as a critique. It is not an art critique. It is criticism that the exhibition used images without obtaining permission or the informed consent of the persons depicted in those images. It is a simple fact that one of the official parties responsible for managing image permissions criticised Crawford for unauthorised and unethical use of images in a public exhibition. The Disena review reports that fact and acknowledges its importance. This is a sufficient source for the point being made. 2A00:23C8:6784:4701:3987:14E0:327E:14AC (talk) 15:13, 18 September 2023 (UTC)

Regarding a change made at Knicks–Nuggets brawl

A few days ago you made this revision at Knicks–Nuggets brawl, with the edit reason since this didn't happen, why is it even being mentioned? Well, the answer is simple: since the event in question didn't happen, the situation didn't escalate to the levels of the Malice at the Palace, and the lack of escalation was the point the original writer of the sentence wanted to make when they (whoever they were) wrote said sentence. 100.7.34.111 (talk) 05:02, 29 November 2023 (UTC)
