"When God-Fearin' Women Get the Blues" is a song written by Leslie Satcher and recorded by American country music artist Martina McBride, with production by McBride and Paul Worley. The song was released on June 25, 2001 as the lead single from her Greatest Hits (2001) compilation album.
McBride chose to include Dan Tyminski as a backing vocalist after hearing him sing "I Am a Man of Constant Sorrow" in the movie O Brother, Where Art Thou?[1]
Critical reception[edit]
Billboard magazine gave "When God-Fearin' Women Get the Blues" a positive review, noting that "This one deserves to join its predecessors on a "greatest" set. Pure energy from a format favorite and great fun to boot." The magazine also called it "the best song that Patty Loveless never recorded."[2]

The song was one of the four tracks from McBride's Greatest Hits compilation that were released as singles. It peaked at number 64 on the Billboard Hot 100.[3]
