Questions:[edit]

Have you read the AMA FAQ?

  • Answer:Yes

How would you describe the nature of this dispute? (policy violation, content dispute, personal attack, other)

  • Answer: Content Dispute, Attack on page subject.

What methods of Dispute Resolution have you tried so far? If you can, please provide wikilinks so that the Advocate looking over this case can see what you have done.

What do you expect to get from Advocacy?

  • Answer: Clarification of the rules with regards to British American Football teams, protection of BCAFL pages from Simondrake if Advocacy finds in our favour.

Summary:[edit]

The Surrey Stingers page created by Masonpatriot and edited by myself are "up for deletion" because Simondrake believes that they are not a noteworthy team.

Myself and several other Wikipedians disagree with this, as BCAFL could be compared to several leagues most notably the NCAA, which has entire projects based around creating individual team pages. These American university teams are notable enough for wikipedia, and unless Wikipedia has a policy against British university teams then the Stingers should also meet the Wikipedia criteria.

There are several outside sources that record the BCAFL league and team news, such as magazine First down and the websites hot-iron.co.uk, nfluk.com, gridironuk.co.uk, britballnow.co.uk, touchdownclaymores.com and no doubt many more that I am not aware of.

The Stingers are the only BCAFL team that Simondrake has marked for deletion, despite the fact that each of these teams have their own individual page, which are all the same format. The fact that Simondrake is a Student from the Surrey area also makes me believe that this is a personal attack on the Stingers.

Also, myself and Masonpatriot are not affiliated with the Surrey Stingers in any way, we are former players of other teams in the same league.
