Wikipedia:Missing Exif redirects

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
(Redirected from Wikipedia:EXIF)

This page lists redirects from Exif information (more information there) that should be created, but can't because the target isn't written yet.

Present method[edit]

  • Redirect manufacturer to manufacturer article (has worked every time)
  • Redirect camera model to camera model article, failing that, redirect to camera family article or "cameras by company X" article. Do not redirect to "products by company X" article.
  • Redirect software revisions to main software article.

To do[edit]

Missing (i.e., still redlinked, no camera family article)[edit]

Oddities[edit]

Generally useless links[edit]

These are listed here for watching until we decide what to do or not to do with them.

Musings[edit]

  • Do we even want an article on every digital camera ever made?
  • The company Canon links to a disambiguation page. We could disambiguate all manufacturer links automatically (i.e. Canon (Exif) or something like that) by editing MediaWiki:Exif-make-value, but we'd have to go the whole list again. Also, some links that now work would then be broken.
    • Dutch Wikipedia does that: suffixes with (cameramerk) (camera brand) and (software); no links to camera models, but we could add (camera model) to those.
