Helgoland class battleships[edit]

Germany's second class of dreadnought battleships, and the last group to grace the FTC/GTC process (though there are two groups of WWII-era ships still waiting to be completed). These ships saw heavy service during World War I, and were spared the internment and subsequent scuttling at Scapa Flow. They were ceded to the Allies after the war and with the exception of Ostfriesland, were broken up for scrap. Ostfriesland was the subject of controversial air-power tests conducted by Billy Mitchell and sunk off the Virginia Capes in 1921. The three GAs will eventually all go to FAC, when all is said and done. Parsecboy (talk) 18:01, 26 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support And for what it's worth I really like the fully expanded unified version as opposed to the (subtopic) model. Unlike some of the other topics that use those the subtopic articles here really directly fall under the main topic (Battleships of Germany). Plus it sure looks pretty/impressive!
