Comments – After reading through the list I only have a few comments; this appears to be in solid shape overall.

The bit about "after leading the league with a 117.1 passer rating" could use a reference.
In addition, the Tomlinson and Peterson photos could use cites for their statistics, since they aren't mentioned in the lead.
Minor point, but I noticed that ref 4 (Gadsden Times) doesn't have a page number, unlike the other Google News sources. I've always preferred to add the page numbers for Google News cites, just in case they ever pull a story offline (I've seen it happen before), and since you have page numbers for the others, it might make sense to add one for this reference as well. I'll add alt text. As for more images, for articles like these I prefer in-game "action shots," which are unfortunately pretty scant for pre-21st century players.
