Hi all, switching back again from obscure scifi award lists to obscure video game lists. Having learned my lesson from my recent FLC that crossed the obscurity line, this list, though it does include numerous Japanese-only games, does include a few million-copy sellers. The Mystery Dungeon series is a set of roguelikes broken into roughly five groups and generally involving non-original characters, but is unified by their gameplay elements (and names) into a distinct set. The tables are taken from previous FLs and meet ACCESS requirements, and I think everything should be good to go. Thanks for reviewing! --PresN 21:06, 30 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • "Most were developed.." you ended the last sentence with "is a series of"... so this isn't great. Perhaps, "Most of titles were..."
  • "but select titles in " -> "but other titles were developed by different companies"".
  • "and a few individual games" perhaps "and those unrelated to other games or games franchises"?
  • You repeat some links within sections (e.g. "PlayStation 2" within the "Dragon Quest series") but you don't elsewhere, e.g. "Chunsoft" within the Shiren the Wanderer series section. Be consistent. Check all sections.
  • "Fushigi no Dungeon - Furai no Shiren 3" needs an en-dash, check for others.
  • Ziff Davis Media seems to be just called Ziff Davis.

*Oppose - I really hate to do this to you, but there's a pretty significant problem with the use of GameSpot as a source of database information. I'm not sure if you've seen the list at WP:VG/S, but GameSpot's database is noted as being unreliable. To quote that page: "GameSpot uses a similar interface for displaying news, user blogs, and "union" postings. Be careful to ensure that the author is a staff member. Some content used to be mirrored atYahoo! Games. Their database is shared by http://www.gamefaqs.com/features/help/entry.html?cat=42 [GameFAQs] which is considered unreliable and their methods of verification do not meet the standards of Wikipedia. There is also other user-created content so beware!" However, I'm sure other sites that are considered reliable by WP:VG/S, such as IGN, might be able to help you out.   • Ugh, are you kidding me. Gamespot is the only English-language database that covers Japanese-only games with any sort of rigor in release dates- IGN barely covers the Japanese dates even if the game was released in the US. I was in luck in this case, I guess, as Chunsoft is more consistent than Square Enix in actually putting the release dates in their games' webpages, but this is going to make my next list almost impossible to track down everything. :( Anyways, all Gamespot refs replaced, I'll archive the new refs later. --PresN 21:29, 13 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Yeah, I know the feeling. Allgame's pretty poor on Japanese references, too. Pretty much anything that isn't user-contributed is usually reliable when it comes to these gaming websites, but GameSpot's pretty devious... I'd say that's how they managed to get all of that Japanese information anyway because it's all user-contributed through GameFAQs.
