Original – A 14th-century hanging scroll from Goryeo dynasty Korea, depicting Ksitigarbha. In art, this Bodhisattva is often shown with a halo, a staff for opening the gates of hell, and a jewel to bring light to darkness. Ksitigarbha vowed to not to achieve Buddhahood until all hells are emptied.
Reason
Since we've had a string of Korean nominations recently, I figured I might as well take part. This is a high quality scan of a 14th-century Korean scroll, showing several of the key characteristics of the Bodhisattva Ksitigarbha
