Scaptia lata

Original - A macro of scaptia lata (aka "coliguacho" and "tabano negro" in Spanish) taken on 11-Feb-2010 at one of the look-out points ("miradors") on the road up the Osorno Volcano in southern Chile. The fly is about two centimeters long.
