Image's request under progression Request taken by Mliu92 (talk) 18:58, 19 February 2016 (UTC).[reply]

@George Ho: I understand the request to have this logo redrawn as SVG. Please replace the existing PNG with the redrawn SVG if you agree. I did cheat on the border of the "swirl" – rather than crop the vector path accordingly, I used a thick white border to simulate the slight downsizing. I note the original logo is essentially transparent here, so on anything other than a white background, the SVG will not be identical.
Cheers, Mliu92 (talk) 18:58, 19 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Mliu92: How about changing font color to white with some black thin borders of text? As for the circles, the arrangement of black and white colors is wrong. The top and bottom circles should be black; the left and right circles, white. You might know which color should be for each of other circles. --George Ho (talk) 21:18, 19 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@George Ho: The linked source PNG has white opaque text; since the current PNG on Wikipedia has black text I assumed the request was for a version of the logo to be displayed on a white background, and hence I reversed the colors of the text and the colors of the stones (white stones in the source PNG are rendered as black in this SVG, and black stones are rendered as open circles). The "black" stones in the source PNG are actually white outlines with no fill, so they take on the background color. Adding an outline to the text takes the SVG re-draw away the source - then there's white stones and white stroke stones on a white background and every stone becomes invisible. I can upload a version of the logo with an opaque black background if that helps, but it's also problematic in that I would need to know the correct padding (where to put the borders) for the logo. Let me know what you need.
I do not have a source for the "reversed" coloring of the current Wikipedia PNG, and the "correct" original coloring is invisible unless displayed on a dark background. Cheers, Mliu92 (talk) 22:34, 19 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, take your time. However, do not directly use the current PNG version. I asked for the previous PNG version (before someone else replaced it). Have you checked the official website of AlphaGo? George Ho (talk) 22:40, 19 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@George Ho: I worked directly from the PNG that is on the official website of AlphaGo. I uploaded a new version of the SVG with a black background in order to keep the coloring the same as the "official" PNG, although the "official" PNG has no background and is essentially invisible when displayed here. The "official" PNG relies on having a dark-colored background in order to display the "black" stones. I've uploaded a number of alternative SVGs. Revert to a different one if the current one is not what you had in mind. Mliu92 (talk) 16:10, 22 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Closely accurate. The borders seem too thick. Can you thin them, not too thin though? George Ho (talk) 23:08, 23 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@George Ho: It was suggested that the AlphaGo logo falls under Public Domain as a logo that consists strictly of simple geometric shapes and text, so I've uploaded the alternatives into Commons. They're up as separate files, and I've also thinned out the outline on the text.
Cheers, Mliu92 (talk) 16:30, 25 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Let's hear Masem's view about copyright of this logo then. George Ho (talk) 18:37, 25 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
The shapes would fall under simple within US consideration. The only possible source of creativity that might fall into play is the gradient, but is a rather simple effect, and would be likely considered too simple for creativity. --MASEM (t) 20:09, 25 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@The C of E: I edited the JPG using GIMP and produced a PNG with transparent background, since JPG doesn't contain transparency information. The JPG should probably be deleted and replaced with the PNG when you have a chance.
Cheers, Mliu92 (talk) 16:07, 19 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Mliu92: I have made the switch and put the db-f1 template on the old one. The C of E God Save the Queen! (talk) 23:15, 19 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Mliu92: Hi, sorry to be picky but I have noticed that around the letters below the crest, there are still small traces of white on it opposed to full transparency. The C of E God Save the Queen! (talk) 10:25, 21 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@The C of E: There's not a lot of data (resolution) to fully reduce all the white spots. I've taken another shot at it but beyond this I'd recommend taking the request to the photography (raster graphists) workshop.
Cheers, Mliu92 (talk) 16:23, 22 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Mliu92: Thank you very much for your work. The only reason I didn't take it to the photo workshop was because I thought they'd just bounce it back here as a non-photo but i'll keep it in mind. Thanks again. The C of E God Save the Queen! (talk) 16:42, 22 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Corkythehornetfan: Colors have been updated per the branding guide and a new version of the logo has been uploaded.
Old orange was #f37437   and new orange is #ff4a00
Old blue was #044ea1   and new blue is #0021a5  . Interestingly, there was an instance of a different shade of blue, #39597b   which I also updated to #0021a5.

The current version of the Koru flag has drawn some criticism from some users. In fact, some details are different from the original (black stripe at the hoist seems too narrow and the spiral is a bit different). Could you please improve it? I am using these letters to make a few road sign images, however they're kinda poorly constructed because I extracted them from a PDF. I'm looking for someone really good with text that would be kind enough to redo these letters, hopefully as close to the same proportions and shape as possible. It's really just the curves that need to be fixed so they are smooth instead of jagged. Fry1989 eh? 21:09, 22 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Done it may seem like the colours and spacing look different, however this was sourced from a PDF they have displaying their environmental and charitable actions/contributions. I did extract the logo as a SVG, however for both licensing and ease, I uploaded as a small PNG. Not sure if this falls under PD-textlogo cause some other Virgin-related logos are under fair use presently. ///EuroCarGT 05:51, 14 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I believe that tag is on there based on the precedence of the fact that The parent airline's logo is already on Commons with those tags. The C of E God Save the Queen! (talk) 09:35, 15 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
