Huggle[edit]

Recently granted my rollback rights, tried to rollback on huggle. It does not let me log in. It says: "Huggle is not enabled for your account, check user configuration page." What should I do, please help. Thanks Ryryrules100 T C 21:00, 18 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

See Wikipedia:Huggle/Configuration. – ukexpat (talk) 21:26, 18 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Sheboygan, Wisconsin[edit]

I am a first-time editor. I posted a name (Don McNeill) to the referenced page as someone with ties to the city, but I'm having trouble documenting it, as most of my knowledge is family history. I found one on-line source that verifies my addition, though it's sketchy: http://www.encyclopedia.com/doc/1P2-6443768.html

I was born in Sheboygan as was my mother. She went to school with McNeill a few years behind him, and his info/pic appears in her HS yearbooks, which are not on line. Couldn't figure out how to post anything to the associated Talk page to tell this. Any suggestions appreciated. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Wisc Girl (talkcontribs) 21:17, 18 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Firstly, thanks for adding Don McNeill to the Sheboygan, Wisconsin article, and for making the effort to find a source for the information. I agree with you that the site you mention is less than ideal, but I believe that the source it's based on, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel would be fine as a source... The article is available at the newspaper's archive, but you have to pay for it as well. However, the excerpt and the headline is available, which verifies that McNeill was resident in the city, so we can use it as a reference, I think. Although I frequently forget this, sources don't have to be accessible online. I hope you don't mind if I add this source to the Sheboygan article - which will make Don McNeill the first referenced notable person in that section, perhaps setting a precedent for the future!
I'm not sure how you would go about referencing a yearbook, or if yearbooks are often used as sources on Wikipedia. If you are interested in finding out, you could try asking on the reliable sources noticeboard (that is, if someone more knowledgeable than me doesn't answer here).
I would cite the yearbook as I would any other book; see WP:CITE for much more info on that kind of thing. --Orange Mike | Talk 13:05, 19 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
As to posting to the talk page of an article, if you click the "talk" link at the top of the article, then click the "+" symbol, you can add a new section for discussion to which other editors can respond.--Kateshortforbob 22:59, 18 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Ahh, thanks Orangemike; I'll remember that in future. It's been a while since I've looking at the referencing guidelines. --Kateshortforbob 23:44, 19 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I need some help[edit]

Resolved

So, here's a link to an article, which I was trying to edit, but since I'm not good at editing tables, I came here. The problem is—if you look at the right side where the info box is located—the address of the school is given correctly; however, at the end of the zip code, there's a comma. I wanted to take it out, but when I try to edit, the comma isn't there! --Pgecaj (talk) 21:27, 18 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The reason for that is because it's not a table as such, it's a template - specifically, Template:Infobox Secondary school, and it looks like that if you give the infobox a state, it wants a country (remember, Wikipedia has a world-wide audience, and to only provide a country if it isn't in the US is a form of systemic bias). recording artist updates[edit]

I edited my artist page...it saved one minute and the next it went back to reading what it read before I made the updates.

Also how to I submit a change for his name...you have it spelled Jaz-O and it is spelled JazO. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Daniellealexander (talkcontribs) 21:53, 18 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your edits were reverted by an automated bot, because they contained external links to site(s) which the editors of Wikipedia have generally decided are not useful - the link to MySpace, I suspect. In fact, you appear to have changed the article significantly, using text taken verbatim from the subject's MySpace page, which is not really what we do here. In addition to being a copyright violation, the text is not neutral enough for an encyclopedia entry. I see another editor has left some information on your talk page which may help you in future edits.
As to changing the title of a page, this is done by clicking the "move" link at the top of any article. However, this link will not appear until you are auto-confirmed by making a trivial number of edits and having been registered here for 4 days. --Kateshortforbob 22:12, 18 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Reporting abuse[edit]

How do I report abuse please? I was called a 'dick' by another user even though I did nothing wrong.--Tubsuk (talk) 22:04, 18 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You can report abuse to Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard. -- IRP 22:13, 18 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

(e/c)If you are having a disagreement with another editor or feel their behaviour is inappropriate, a useful first step is Wikipedia:Wikiquette alerts where you can get advice and guidance from other editors to help resolve conflicts.
I haven't been able to find the edit where this occurred, but was the editor quoting or referring to WP:DICK which is a link to an Wikipedia essay called "Don't be a dick"? Personally, I would probably think someone directing me towards this essay (particularly out of the blue) somewhat rude, but I imagine opinions vary on it's usefulness as a discussion tool.--Kateshortforbob 22:22, 18 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

photograph is mislabeled[edit]

Resolved

In the Afghanistan article, a photograph that includes JFK notes that Caroline Kennedy is in the picture -- that is Jacqueline, not Caroline. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Nehmackenzie (talkcontribs) 22:26, 18 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

i've fixed it - thanks. Sssoul (talk) 08:53, 19 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Distributor Information is currently incorrect[edit]

Site: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_York,_I_Love_You

Problem: Distributed by Vivendi Palm Pictures

The name of the company distributing the film is Vivendi Entertainment, wholly different than Vivendi the multinational corp.

You can visit us here at: Vivendient.com

You can also take a look at this press release from Universal Music Group: http://new.umusic.com/News.aspx?NewsId=615

That should be enough to change it. Please feel free to contact me directly if you need anything else.
