Dear editors: While checking the above article for copyright violations, I found this web page:

On further investigation, though, I think this is a hoax. I couldn't find any reference to the company at the top of the article on Google, and what I found instead was this:

Earwig's copyvio detector also gives this website. I think the whole thing is a copyvio of quite a few different websites, I've nominated it as such. In cases of doubt, if you know it meets one CSD criteria unequivocally (the copyvio in this one), and are unsure or less sure about another one, just nominate it as the one you're sure of. The naming of many tribes who are working in the tea industry of Assam.[edit]

While looking for the workers who work in the tea gardens of Assam, I came across this page. The naming as tea-tribe is full of wrong information. While explaining the needs for the knowledge of the workers cast and tribes, the authors must have some serious lack of knowledge about the tribes. Thank You Wikipedia Donors[edit]

When I was in high school I was always told by my teachers to "not use Wikipedia. Period!" That was something I never followed because for me there was no other educational site that helped me learn so much, so quickly. Even if I found a perfectly sourced article that was 100% legit, I would get a failing grade as if I had gone over there head and disrespected them by disobeying them. I never meant to do that. So many of my class mates swore by Wikipedia it became out of hand and the site almost banned on our school computers. Luckily that didn't happen. I was a C+ to B- student at best without Wikipedia's help but was asked to be a tutor for many students for my diverse way at approaching educational logistics. I wouldn't even show up in person for a session. If a student had a specific question that I could not help them with off the top of my head I would go to a Wikipedia page on the subject they needed help with and help them learn that subject in there own way without giving them the answer by forming the subject info in a manner the student could understand. I have ADHD so if I was not interested and passionate about what I was learning or being taught, good luck with trying to get through to me. It didn't work. I'm not sure why but I was able to make Environmental Science seem fascinating to a struggling student who smoked marijuana everyday, had a tumultuous family relationship and was much more concerned with having a good time in there social life. He was on the verge of dropping out. I ended up tutoring him for the next 2 years. He was a soon-to-be failing student who graduated with a 3.0 GPA. I showed him how my method of madness worked on him. He picked up that method and ran with it, becoming a tutor himself. The logistics of teaching a non-interested and heavily distracted student can sometimes seem overwhelming and damn near impossible but Wikipedia seems to defy that statement with a person who has insight paired with the gift of putting certain wikipedia information and subjects in a way that makes mathematics as interesting and fun as MTV.

Thank you to everyone who donates to make this online encyclopedia up and running. Wikipedia educational logistics solutions is a beautiful thing.

Not sure where to ask for Header Hierarchy Questions[edit]

Is there a comprehensive listing detailing the hierarchy of headers?

I am looking for something to tell me which order is preferred for placing headings within an article. A "this heading must be listed before this heading" kind of thing.

e.g. we wouldn't want the "references" heading the first one on the article page, etc., but where exactly should it appear??

Surely, there must be some continuity protocol in such ordering, no?

Not explanations, not rules, not discourse .... but a list. I did say "list," right?

We're getting closer!! Thank you all for taking the time to reply! I did see that which covers the appendices, references, etc., which is excellent, and that is what prompted my question about a more comprehensive, simple listing to apply to everything else.

Is there not a more comprehensive listing comprised of the most commonly used headings/subheadings? I guess the answer is no. Which is fine. I was simply looking for a single go to list that would only contain "the most commonly used headings and subheadings" listed one on top the other showing a preferred hierarchy. I guess it isn't generally that important a thing, if there already isn't such a listing. (similar to the listing for references ordering)

Dab solver[edit]

Dear editor: When I receive messages from Dab solver, I usually just go and fix them, but today I decided to give the tool a try. It quickly brought up a list of possible target pages; I selected one, made an edit summary, and clicked on "Save". Nothing happened. I had to go and fix the DAB manually. Copied personal Bio on wiki. It says it may be copied from another website.[edit]

However even if you do donate the content, I'm afraid we wouldn't really want it as it stands anyway, as it is promotional, has no reliable 3rd party references and since you are writing about yourself you have a clear conflict of interest. (edit conflict) Looking at Mike Matsumura, just before it was deleted, I see that copyright is only one of the problems. The article had no references, & gave no indication as to why the subject is notable in Wikipedia's terms. Playing short foreign language recordings on Wiki[edit]

I am a linguist and until recently utilised Winamp (by Nullsoft) to play the short tape-segments in OGG format in the pronunciation guides which are included at the head of numerous Wikipedia articles - personal names, placenames, etc.

The latest version of Winamp (My OS is WIN 7) no longer works for me, nor does Window Media Player, when I click on the the speaker icon and tape-segment display.

Orthodox Christian Church[edit]

I have found some errors on an important page, with regards to Orthodox Christian Church name, an attempt to change the name for Orthodox Christian Church into Orthodox Catholic Church would not be left unpunished by the Lord, the Christ. He is not Catholic, but He is the Christ.

Take care of His Church name, or He will find you guilty and burn you in flames of Hell. Do not associate Christian Church with Catholic Church. Orthodox Christian Church is that follow the Christ, from what the name Christian Church. Do not temper with this name, and take good care of your website if you want to provide with informations. Other God will punish you. He start already with His Judgment in the World, you don't watch the news?

Do not change the name, do not temper with Christians, do not play with God, cause His kingdom is at the door.

You, that read this words, take a good care of your Lord's church name. He is not amused that you change and allow others to lie to people with the help of your website.

When God say "No more!" you better understand and do the right thing.

Let's assume you're Orthodox, even if the polemics above are not very Christian - don't you recite the Nicene Creed in your liturgy? Isn't your Church "one, holy, apostolic" and something else? Consider the meaning of the word in Greek. It is quite an innocuous word that we leave untranslated, but you can say "Universal" instead. Isn't your Church universal? What happens if the talkpage consensus is wrong?[edit]

The consensus in 1948 Arab–Israeli War is always against Israel, since I am the only Israeli regular contributor.

As an example, Let us take the issue of the Arab reaction to 1947 UN Partition Plan concerning Palestine . It is agreed that the Arabs rejected it because they wanted Palestine to become a unitary state only and they would not accept any partition of Palestine. But when I added "any form of partition was rejected by the Arabs" it was deleted with the reason that "already written in the article "firmly opposed" or "opposed to any form of" means the same but without poved and useless nuance. style is better." This reason is looking reasonable at a first glance, but actually, there is a big difference between:

  • "firmly opposed" , which is misleading. it hints that the Arab could have accepted a better partition, which is not correct.
  • "opposed to any form of partition" which is clear and correct , but was deleted.

This an example only. There is a group of users who routinely deletes most of my contributions. They apply a war of attrition tactics:

  • Accusing me for nothing. e.g "Band" or "Arabs" on one side versus "the boys" on the other side is a basic pov pushing . But I have never used the term "bands, except of a direct quote of a respected historian.
  • telling wrong "facts": "because the adversary were not the Jews as an ethny". but when I prove that it is an error, the only reply is blaming me " you're blogging' on general issues again, not sticking to the section heading. We are here to resolve specific editing problems, not to descant on Zionism vs Palestinians"

and so on.

There are numerous "Israeli regular contributors" on wikipedia. And why the fact there would only be only one or even none would create a consensus "against Israel" ? There is no such things as "anti-Israel" or "pro-Israeli" consensus on wikipedia. You doesn't seem to understand this project and fails to comply with WP:AGF. Kissing Shakespeare[edit]

Hi, I've started the article for the 2012 YA novel Kissing Shakespeare by Pamela Mingle. However, does anyone know how to reach other readers so that they can help contribute to the article? Your first priority will be providing evidence that the article subject meets Wikipedia:Notability (books) guidelines. You need to show in-depth coverage of the book in third-party published sources to indicate the level of notability required. AndyTheGrump (talk) 19:17, 24 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
That's why I ask if there's anyway to ask for other readers to help. So far, I am just reading the book, and judging what I saw from Barnes & Noble, it is a bestseller which as been sold out every week. I would suggest a few things. The first of which, you have done.
  1. Add relevant WikiProject banners to the talk page.
  2. Since that's done, you might go looking for help from members of those WikiProjects either by posting to their talk pages (I'd suggest trying Wikipedia:WikiProject Children's literature first) or by contacting individual members of those projects.
  3. Add a notice that you've created the article to the talk page of the author. Since the author doesn't have an article, that's impossible to do at this point. I'd suggest working on an article for her, if she's notable.

Hello, Neobatfreak. I'm afraid if it doesn't matter if the book has one reader or a million readers: until some of those readers (or even some people who have not read it) have written about it in independent reliable sources, it fails the test for notability, and cannot have a Wikipedia article about it. Well,Booklist and School Library Journal are used as within Fresno County Public Library catalog. In fact, School Library Journal is has been used for in school and public library systems for patrons to read, so they can decide whether to take a particular item. So, yeah, they have merits. Picture in infobox, getting it centered[edit]

Hello,

I recently put together an infobox for a Wikipedia page entitled "Murray Waas", and included a picture within the infobox.

After a lot of work and tinkering,I uploaded the picture to Wikipedia, put together the box, and also got the pic in!

But I have been unable to center the pic in the middle of the top of the infobox. Instead the best that I could do was to include the pic, but it appears awkwardly to the left.

Was hoping perhaps that someone could perhaps go the page "Murray Waas" and just center the pic in the middle of the info box. I would try myself, but even with the best instructions, probably screw it up. So hoping someone might do it, and also double check that I do the info box in the right place and did it correctly. My first one! Also the pic from the infobox shows up against my will in the notes section, and couldn't get rid of it there. Hoping someone could show me how to fix that, or better yet just do it.
